TerroT3206 Spider & Insect Trap, 4 Count (Pack of 1)

After seeing a few too many spiders we ordered these traps to try them out. Folding them wasn't difficult but it took a minute to figure it out based on the instructions. We tried two laid out flat and two folded to see if there were any major differences. The flat ones still caught bugs, but I found there were more in the folded ones. I was surprised at how long they lasted (had them in my basement for a few months) and didn't accumulate enough to need to be replaced but were still effective at catching critters. Found bugs big and small, from spiders to centipedes to possibly new species, and it felt good seeing them in the traps knowing the basement population was dwindling. Suggestions for best results: lay them next to walls, preferably in corners if possible. Be careful if you have animals! My cat got into one of these when we weren't looking and it got stuck to her fur but we got it off easily.

Living in a new build home with a young child and a very open floor plan, these have been a very effective way to catch all the yucky little bugs that make their way into our home without us having to worry about our child’s safety. They’re not at all interested in messing with these, but even if they did the worst that would happen is they get stuck. If you have a child or pet who you think wouldn’t leave these alone even after getting stuck a few times…they may not be for you. The adhesive is very, very sticky.The traps have no odor and have already caught tons of tiny little centipedes (eeeeew!!!) which is gross but I’m glad they’re on the trap and not crawling through the rest of our home. We supplement with the blue-light sticky traps you plug in the wall to catch the flying bugs. Between the two we haven’t had too many problems with bugs showing up elsewhere. I will say…they haven’t caught any spiders or ants. We had an ant invasion and that’s when we whipped out the Terro liquid baits, which worked in a matter of hours. Used these before and they work very well. The only thing I don’t like is that their difficult to fold into a tent shape (they can be used flat) especially if your not good putting things together. That being said however, the folding them into a tent shape instructions kinda suck. And when handling them do your self a favor and avoid touching the glue side . They are sooo sticky, even if they weren’t poisonous to insects they’d still die. Should you get the gluey sticky on your hand/s use rubbing Alcohol and a decent dish soap together simultaneously under very warm water to get it off your hand/s Cont.. Sept4th. I was under the impression that these traps were poisonous, because as well as being as sticky as they are, they smell like chemicals. However upon looking at the package, they apparently aren't toxic. But that being said, I'd still recommend not touching the sticky side, and be sure your pet doesn't mess with the trap. You probably wouldnt want to find Sylvester cat, or Fido dog, trying to pull one off their paw with their teeth. And then have to chase them down when it stuck to their tongues.

These spider traps are awesome. We have a lot of funky freaky big spiders where we live, and they are very good at managing to get inside, despite our best efforts. Pest #2 is crickets during the summer. They're like wizards they just manage to teleport in here in herds. Sure, if we can catch them in a paper cup, we toss them back outside. But a lot of them hide in the nooks and crannies and it's just chirp chirp chirp all night long. I just set these up along the wall in the recesses where nobody goes, like behind the toilet, under cabinets that are off the ground a few inches, inbetween two large pieces of furniture, behind the couch in the corner. At first I was checking them incessantly and I was disappointed. Like I expected every spider in the house to find the traps in the first 3 days. I forgot about them and some time a while later I came across one and I picked it up and peeked in, then yelped and almost dropped it because I didn't expect to see anything at all and there were a bunch of big dead spiders in there. And a cricket. Excited, I went around the house checking all of the other ones and it was bugs bugs bugs. I couldn't believe it. These things are great and I just set them up and forget about them for months, tossing and replacing a few times a year.UPDATE (12/3/18):We had a cricket decide to try to move into the chimney since we never use the fireplace. I thought cricket chirping couldn't possibly get any more annoying, but it turns out that the acoustics in a dusty old chimney do that job just fine. I read somewhere online that you can put a little sprinkle of cornmeal on the center of a glue trap like this and it lures them right to it. It seriously worked like a charm! I put the cornmeal on one of the traps already sitting around (little spoonful right in the center) and stuck it on the floor of the fireplace along the edge, went to bed (with the door closed the the fan on to drown out the noisy little turd) and when I checked the trap in the morning, the cricket problem was solved. I probably could have left the cornmeal trap out instead of throwing it away, but I had visions of hordes of crickets flying in toward the cornmeal playing Ride of the Valkyries so I tossed it in the trash.UPDATE 2022: “Snakes! It HAD to be snakes!”Still goin strong with these terro traps all these years - still catching monster spiders but now also centipedes (I didn’t even know we HAD centipedes!!!) and today a big meaty scary snake. A SNAKE!! That was INSIDE!!PS: pre-fold these badboys with the nonstick paper still on, then peel off the paper and it’s a cinch to lock them into place.
