Most songs are playable ranges even for 1st year beginners. More challenging songs just have 1 or 2 accidental fingerings to look up.

This had a great mix of songs that are current and some "classic." We listen to everything from 1990s country to 1980s rock to today's hits, and my son was happy to recognize all of the songs in the book from different genres we listen to. Also met his skill level (he has been playing for about a year.)

I was looking for something to continue to grow my child's interest in music that was more than scales but still beginner. The music is more advanced than I expected but they are songs he recognizes. Just needs a little more practice before tackling them. Will definitely return to this as he progresses

Bought this for my son for Christmas- he picked it out. He plays trumpet for his high school band and enjoys playing for friends and family. He is really looking forward to learning all this book has to offer!
