It should work well

This is great tippet, easy to knot, easy to cut, and doesn't seem to want to slice into mono leaders under strain using a simple triple surgeon's knot. I was having problems with pike biting off my bass streamers, and this is just the solution I was looking for.

It is good stuff, easy to tie and is strong. the lower stars are for cost and it kinks pretty fast. You'll want to tie your knots with as little of the knot passing over your running line as this will kink the leader part. As a result I generally use a clip on for the fly. Of course I am all ways suspicious that I get fewer bites cause of the clip. the big pike seem to not care about the leader kink or clip.

This wire tippet is great for pike. I used the 20 lb in Canada this summer catching pike on my fly rod. Never lost a single pike, and the smallmouth would hit as well. Good stuff.

The spool was empty when I received the item.
