Norpro 992 Nonstick 4-Egg Poacher, 8.5 inch, Black

I ordered this after too many disappointments trying to poach an egg like a French chef. This insert works perfectly. I heat the poacher in a shallow pan of boiling water, turn the heat to simmer, slip a sliver of butter into the depressions before the eggs & use a glass cover over the pan to steam the the top of the eggs. Lift out the insert & slide perfect eggs onto my toast. Easy & quick. The insert wipes clean or can go in the dishwasher & seems to be sturdy.

I have tried to make poached eggs a dozen different ways, I swear. I've also purchased silicon poachers that I think are worthless. (What product development Einstein would design round bottoms that just tip over??). Just received this other day and tried it for the first time. I read all the instructions plus read the reviews. Insert fit perfectly in the pan. I set my stove to "medium" heat. Buttered the cups a bit as was suggested by reviewers and is now included in packaged instructiion. Carefully added the eggs THEN added to the skilled, covered and cooked for 3 minutes. Nearly perfect! Next time I'll just add 20 or 30 seconds to the cooking time and they will be perfect! Eggs slid right out of the cups and were delicious! Easy cleanup too. This pan is a real winner. Can't wait to serve Salmon Eggs Benedict for my Dad this Fathers Day!

I had s similar pan for years and for some reason, I cannot find it, so I bought this one. My original pan was truly non-stick. This one, not so much. I followed the instructions, but the eggs do stick a little, and the pan wasn’t that easy to clean. It makes great poached eggs, but I wouldn’t call this a non-stick pan.

This was a terrible purchase decision. The product is not what it claims to be. Eggs stick bad and don’t come off. Bad quality. Hard to clean. I threw it away. This company should be ashamed of itself and Amazon should not allow such crummy products and deceptive marketing claims.

Nice that it’s one piece but the egg STICKSUsually causing the eggs to break trying to remove. Did not include instructions or recipes.Horrible to clean

I love this egg poacher! I've tried tons of egg poacher pans as my great grannies pan is almost gone. This is the best I've tried & I love it because the egg cups are shallow. All the new poacher pans are deep cups & its hard to get right timing on perfect poached eggs. This pan fits in almost any skillet with a lid & cooks perfect poached eggs in under 3 minutes. Plus the eggs are perfectly sized for english muffins.I had to experiment at first, but find that adding about an inch of water to skillet (under the lip of what water level would be when this insert is added), then while water coming to boil, add eggs to this insert pan that is kept aside, then once water boils, using the middle knob of this insert, put this insert pan that is full of the eggs (or even only 2 eggs) into the hot water skillet & put lid on the skillet & its about perfect in 2.5 minutes. (I cheat, once water boils, I turn off burner for a second to add the insert poacher pan - because the steam is hot, then I put lid on skillet & turn burner back med to high).

They were well made, but almost too thick of material; takes awhile for eggs to cook
