Very slick

I recommend this product to anyone who is considering buying a light box for photography small to medium objects. I have used the white matte background with natural lighting and an iPhone 7 to photograph artwork, and I had great results. I just clipped the sheet to something sturdy and that was it! I also have a clear empty bin and some Ottlights for when I need more than the available natural light.I got the pack with black, white, and 7 more colors including gray even though I’ll mostly use white. I’m not sure why the black and white are slightly smaller, but they’re still a good size.

These have been working great as backdrops for photos and for top-down videos. I’ve attached a few examples where you can see them mounted on my wall. They're nice and light, finely textured, and durable, I just wish the white and black were matte on both sides. You could make a pack for shiny on every side and another for matte, which would be fantastic.Also, these do pick up a fair amount of dust, and might not be great in studios that are prone to dust and debris.

The background has one side matte and the other side smooth. The matte side in the one I received has a blemish in the material that cannot be cleaned off, roughly 3 cm (1.25 in) long directly in the middle of the sheet roughly 20 cm (8 in) from one end.The shiny side has very long blemishes almost the entire length of the sheet, right down the middle of the material. It looks to me like the sheet was rolled with a damaged roller.Fortunately, I don't need the shiny side, and I can work on the other end to avoid the blemish on the matte side. However, it looks like quality control was completely lacking.One thing to warn potential buyers -- give yourself about 20 minutes to unwrap the background, and don't plan to use it right away. The background was tightly rolled to about a 5cm (2 in) diameter. In its long journey from China it became seriously curled. It took quite a while to get it out of its packaging and to roll it in the reverse direction, and then I used rubber bands to keep it rolled in the reverse direction to remove the curl that it had taken.

This is an excellent backdrop for anyone looking for a white background for small product photography. I found no blemishes or unevenness in mine, the length is a good size, and having a matte and a glossy side is a real plus. (Don't forget to peel off the protective plastic film on the glossy side before using.) The only reason(s) I didn't give this 5 Stars is for complaints that other have also noted. First, and rather minor, is the included clamps are crap. One of mine came apart the first time I used it. I fortunately have a set of better ones already, but if this is what they are going to offer, the company would be better off not including them. Second, though, is a bit more irksome. That is, this sheet does not want to lay flat! It was rolled so tight, and it's so thick, that it's just not relaxing. I unrolled mine and weighted it down for three days under wooden planks, and after that I've been hanging it vertically between shoots with weights clamped to the bottom, and it STILL curls when I lay it out. I have to clamp the edge to my table if I want a flat surface for my product shoots. I suppose in a way that's an indication of how thick and sturdy the sheet is. But still, it's a bit of an annoyance. I've included some pics to show the curl, and also a watch picture to show how really great this sheet looks regardless. I do want to emphasize that this is an excellent white backdrop, especially for the money. If you need one, and can deal with it not flattening out ever (probably), it's a terrific deal.

I really wanted to like these, but there are a few issues.1. The black and white are not the same size as all the other backdrops in the pack. They’re smaller, and I don’t understand why.2. The white appears opaque but it’s sheer and the legs of the backdrop stand show through it and appear in your photos.3. They crease and wrinkle. When that happens, they are useless.4. The don’t stay flat. You’ll need paperweights for the edges.

I was so worried about how and I going to get these things to lay flat when they get here. The size, color, thickness and everything is perfect so it was a concern I would never get these usable based on everyone else's feedback about how tight the sheets are rolled. When I received the items I was relieved to find all colors stacked apon eachother and it is a single roll and it had about a 5 inch open center vs what appears in product photos which is very tight individual rolls. Did this make the product usable right out the package....no But, what worked perfect for me was just to roll it very tightly the opposite way it wants to go and just hold it for a minute. Once I let it go it had already looked usable it was open and had a slight arch as it should. I fastened it to my stand and it perfectly came down, made the bend it should, laid flat and then hung of the edge of the table as it should. I adjusted how much of a bend in the back I wanted and placed 2lb weights on each end close to the end of the table to hold it in place and it's working perfectly. I did this for both the black and white. Fair warning the black and white sheets are sized slightly smaller then the rest of the colors and at first I was like awe man....but I checked the item description and it does in say that is the case so no sense being upset and turns out it works great in my custom booth anyway.
