Excellent price and quality should last a while

This thing is HUGE and I didn't realize how big it is till I opened it . I ordered this for my 21-ft mako center console which I got to try out yesterday . It works perfect for what I need which is to slow me down while I'm drifting. it cuts my speed down to half and allows my bait to stay in the zone longer. It is rated for 21 ft boat but I think it can hold a much bigger boat just fine depending on where you tie it up .. just don't forget to bring it in before you get on your way that's how I lost my last one

Worked great

Used 2 on a 19 foot boat for drifting, had super strong winds and they worked like a charm.

Well made and works to slow boat drift.

Much better quality than last cheap one I owned. Bit harder to deploy but works better to slow boat and stays open without twisting lines.I like the flotation sewn into the top of the bag and the bouy float on the tow line.Could use a heavier trip line than the thin cord included.Overall very impressed with the quality and hopefully will last longer than the 10 years I got out of the prior cheap one.

Great for trolling walleyes

Heavy duty awesome construction. I use two of these one off each side of the boat to slow my trolling speed down. It takes my 17.5 foot boat with a 115 efi from 2.7 down to 1.7 mph.

Not useful over 20MPH....

I was very pleased with the construction of this sock; I got the 54" for a 21' fishing boat in Alaskan waters,, and it works great to slow my drift. One complaint, it doesn't hold up when you try to get up on step with a 200HP engine. Actually, that's not fair; my 3/8" braided nylon rope broke before the sock did. So kudos to the design. As a side note, it doesn't float. Hence I am buying two more at this price; 1/3 of my local retailer.

Good for a 14' jonboat

This is a very basic drift sock. I bought the 24" version for my 14' jonboat. I wouldn't recommend anything smaller. Works well, the only recommendations I would have is a drawstring at the exit end of the sock to add adjustability and I also zip tied a piece of foam pipe wrap around one of the sock straps, to keep it from sinking when not in motion. This also stops it from twisting. Some higher priced socks have a small flotation foam piece embedded in the sock.

Field Test Results are Positive

I have a 26 foot Sea Ray and I was looking for a both a drift anchor and a trolling brake for lake fishing. I ordered a 30 inch model which is less than recommended because I am an engineer and I just couldn't see how the manufacturer's recommended anchor was needed (much larger). When I received the package it said in red letters "not to be used as a trolling brake." But the fish were calling and there is nothing like a field test. Short answer is that is worked fine as a trolling brake. Trolled for hours and it reduced the speed from 3.5-3.7 mph to 2.8. I tied it off to a cleat on the port side and the force exerted on the rope was not extreme. The boat tracked straight ahead. I used some existing rope and a float to hook it up instead of buying the custom rig offered by the manufacturer. While trolling the rope was not stretched tight but had some give to it. The sock/brake was easy to retrieve and folded up into a nice compact package for restowing. In short, I am very happy with the product both as a trolling brake and as a drift anchor and I recommend it.

Love it.

This drift sock is awsome. I have a 17ft boat and this worked like a charm. Heavy duty materials, this seems really well made.

Excellent drift sock in heavy winds!

Overall I am very satisfied with the Lindy Drift Control Magnum 60" drift sock. It came with the harness and float attachment as well. The only thing that I was not happy with was the fact that some of the bright orange paint from the styro-foam float transferred to the drift sock and harness (which does not impact the socks' performance however from a cosmetic perspective it is not very pleasing to look at).

the 30 is better then 24

Its a great sock , made well . i have 14 foot boat with 15hp 4 stroke and by luck ordered the 30 instead of the recommended 24 and glad i did. I recommend go 30 on your first choice ! i can just raise trolling idle a smidgen above its idle to get a 2mph troll cruise for diving crank baits. you wont need dump cord ! Its easy to pull in and empty as it, I used orange pool noodles for line floats . perfect! Will it spook fish pulling as a sea break ? possibly? but I have caught over 20 big bass in 8 houres of pulling break so don't seem that bad. in fact i think the blob floating behind boat brings them closer because of curiosity. Would I buy this one again! YUP
