Pure flaxseed oil
After reading on the label that the flaxseed oil contained sunflower oil I called the company to find out what percentage of the total volume was actually flaxseed oil. According to the kind customer service representative, sunflower oil is used only as an excipient to process the small amounts of preservatives that are in the actual flaxseed oil. The oil itself contains solids (lignans)which are part of the unprocessed seed, and this contributes to the residue in the bottle that some people have complained about. Apparently they have health benefits and dissolve into the product when shaken. I found the taste to be quite good, and since it cost about half the price of many of the more expensive varieties, I will continue to buy it.

Harsh Metallic taste! Brown Goop inside bottle.
Item arrived March 4 2025. It was packed well, but the bottle was slightly caved in. I removed it from packaging, removed the bottle's outer and inner seal. There was a brown goop inside the top of the bottle. I wondered if it might be ground Flaxseed that accidentally made it through the straining process. It smelled fishy as did the oil. (The last Flaxseed oil I bought was a different brand and also smelled a little like fish. Until recently I thought that was how Flaxseed oil always smelled.) I removed the brown goop and found more brown goop on inner side of the bottle--still above the oil line. I removed that. I tasted a small drop of oil. It tasted fishy, then strongly METALLIC. (Other brands I have purchased definitely did not have a metallic taste.) I tried to return the bottle, but apparently they don't except returns! I will not buy from this company again.

good taste, good price, 19 of 24 ounces oil, 5 of 24 ounces sediment
not 5 stars due to the sunflower oil. I've ordered 6 of these and emptied 4 of them over the past year. The flax seed oil tastes good, as time goes on I have developed a like of the taste and honestly taste it as delicious flax seed oil, tastes like the raw flax seeds that I like to chew. The cod liver oil I consume, in contrast, is nearly tasteless. Sediment in the heavy duty plastic container varies, the picture shows the most sediment that I have encountered. Other reviewers have had a cow regarding the sediment, one showed how their oil was not clear. The flax oil was a clear beautiful light yellow for me. as the sediment falls to the bottom and stays there. I don't know why sun flower seed oil is an ingredient, but I agree with other reviewers and would prefer that the sun flower oil not be present. I am trying to avoid sun flower oil because it has a far higher omega 6 to omega 3 ratio.

High Quality Food Supplement
I use this organic flax oil daily in my smoothies and in homemade dressings. It tastes good and gives me the Omega 3’s that can be hard to get in an American diet.

Cast iron seasoning
I got this oil primarily for seasoning my cast iron. It does a very credible job at that, easily forming a hard finish that protects the cast iron. After 4 or 5 layers, it's holding up wonderfully to the abuse. My dutch ovens still look great.I give it less that full marks for a couple reasons.First, no matter how carefully you try, the minimum you can squirt out of the dispenser top is a rather large dollop. I'd estimate it at a tablespoon. That's more than I need and the rest just gets wasted on the rag.Second, the top leaks. Fine if you're going to store this upright in your pantry but a rude surprise when it was stored sideways in the box of camping cooking supplies. Finally, there is a LOT of grit at the bottom of the bottle. Maybe that grit is all good stuff if you're using this as a food ingredient (I did see a "shake thoroughly" on the label) but it's just waste for my purpose. That said, the grit did all settle out very nicely and stayed in the bottle so it didn't interfere with the seasoning I was putting on my cast iron.
