Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess - Nintendo Wii

I honestly don't ever take the time to write reviews. I have finally decided to pay it forward because I find reviews very helpful. I bought this game as a Hanukkah present for my 3 (4 next month) year old. She absolutely loves it, and she doesn't require a lot of help from mom and dad. I think the thing that I like most is you can put it on an instruction mode, and when you have to move the remote a certain way, it shows you. My child is not that mechanically inclined, so I was completely encouraged when she was doing it by herself. My almost 2 year old is also captivated by the game, and is copying his big sister. I think this will be a fun interactive game for a long time in this household.

Nice game for a 4 y.o. child. With a brief initial walk-through it's pretty straight-forward and engaging. It uses the approach similar to what they have in the Dora cartoon series which IMO also helps kids to figure out their strategy and next steps. Graphics are quite nice as is game's audio. Granted, it's not very "deep" (can be completed in a few hours by a dedicated kid) but it doesn't seem to get them bored too fast either. Decent product overall.

My 4 year old daughter loves this game. It's a good first Wii game in that down in the lower corner of the screen it tells you what to do with the remote to get the story to do what you want. It shows movement or pictures to walk them through the process so they don't get frustrated. She was able to go through the game independently which made her enjoy it all the more. The screens very much resemble Dora's TV program and I like how interactive it is. Very positive game.

We bought this game for our 4yr old girl who generally finds the other Wii games too difficult or too boring. This game, however, is extremely easy to play and my daughter enjoys playing it. They really did a good job of providing intuitive controls and plenty of on-screen help that she can easily follow by herself. If you are looking for a game for a young girl 3+, this is it.

This game is fun while it lasts. Unfortunately for my 5-year-old daughter, it lasted about an hour--and she isn't even particularly good at video games. I kept thinking there was some kind of mistake--I didn't just pay almost twenty dollars for a game that only lasted an hour--but once you save the princess it's OVER. Only buy this game if your child is still in the early stages of video game play and it will take them a LONG TIME to win, otherwise don't waste your money. On the plus side, there is no reading involved and there are no scary parts so your child can play by himself/herself.

The controls are easy for my tech-savvy 4 1/2 year old to not get dispirited and give up, but not so easy that he gets bored. I think I'd get bored pretty quickly, as the movements and plot are basically the same (with cosmetic variations) - but he loves it, and has played through the story several times. I think it's going to be a godsend if we have as cold a winter this year as the last one - there's a lot cabin fever we need to fight off!

This has sadly been one of those games that will spend its life in a drawer (unless we sell it secondhand). For our three-year-old daughter (who had very little experience with the Wii before this), the controls aren't easy to use and imitate (and I even had trouble helping her at times), so she became frustrated. When a couple of our friends with older children (~age 5) tried it, their kids were too bored with it to hang in there long. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a younger child who has already gained some skill with the Wiimote.

I bought this for my 4 year old and she finished the game the first day and doesn't really play it anymore
