Not for use underway. Great product for shade at anchor.
This is easy to put up, stable, provides a nice amount of shade, quick to put away and store. The provided storage sleeve does a great job of packing the umbrella away when you're not using it. Other reviewers have complained that this umbrella is less solidly built than previous umbrellas, but I don't have experience to give an opinion on that. It seems solidly built but it is definitely not made for use while underway. We put it up in a light breeze, perhaps five knots, and it was plenty stable. It would be silly to try to use this umbrella while underway. At the moment I don't want to install a permanent Bimini top on my boat so this is a great alternative when you need shade at anchor.

Keeps the sun off
This is my second one, first one lasted ten years before the plastic disintegrated. Will work at trolling speed. Get a dark color for better shade the white one lets a lot of light through and when hot you will notice the difference

Quality
Quality with Taylormade! Attractive and much more affordable than a bimini top! Love it. Hopefully it lasts for awhile!

Good umbrella...for a NON-windy day!
Umbrella is nice enough. Not really a good Umbrella for any gusts over 20mph. Took it out and anchored on Lake Ontario. Gust of wind just pulled the ribs right out. Luckily that are good plastic and snapped right back in. Wish it was sturdier.

Poor quality
If you're looking for a good quality product for your boat, stay away from these. Received a beat up box re taped, can only assume it was a return. Opened it up and it was half assembled, had to disassemble to fix a latching issue which was not easy with the cheap plastic parts. Mine will end up in the trash and move on to better quality.
