Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for LG G5 Case (2016) - Black

Rather nice, precision fit slim case for the Lg G5. As far as how well it protects the phone from a drop onto concrete, remains to be seen. It seems a bit.. thin, so I hope I never have to test this aspect. It looks very similar to the cheaper Cimo case, but it seems to be better made, and of stronger material than that case. Little details, like precision beveled cutouts, a small air pocket in the corners, molded-in protrusions to better push the volume buttons make a difference. This is what I have on my g5 now, will update the review when I see how it behaves. I had one 2 foot drop onto tile so far, the phone survived intact.Like others pointed out, the case is a tight fit around the edges, esp in the top 2 corners. There, it may interfere with a screen protector, esp with a soft and thin one. When I put the case on, it tends to peel and wrinkle the screen protector in these corners. Wprks a bit better if you put it on the top corners first.Note to manufacturer: an extra 0.5 mm space above the screen would be nice. I am considering a bit if sanding to provide the extra clearance needed.

Not too bad. Key points. I got it to work great with a glass screen protector but due to the super slim profile it wraps up over more than ideal to protect. I got a Razer to trim it. Otherwise this would cause bubbeling which I cannot stand due to the pressure these apply to the glass. Btw I found the best screen guard for this phone if you look at that review. No bubbling super easy to apply and curves with the phone. Review right before this one.Other key point with this is that the lip is too small. As I discussed the wrapping... They should have gone higher and wrapped less to not intefere with screen and get more protection. I ordered another brand when that comes ill write it up. If u are curious it is duotek but cannot vouch for it on this phone yet but loved it on my last.Any way other than lip wrapping when should go high this is good. Sadly I did have to do a hand mod. You use a Razer and a little sand paper takes about 10 minuted no biggie to trim the wrap aspect back about 2mm. Other than this this is good. Important because I love my g5 cheers

I bought this case for about $13, so far it is perfect. The phone fits in perfectly, with the side buttons being covered but still unaffected and the back button being open but very accessible and the camera being unhampered. As opposed to the smooth finish on the phone the case provides enough traction so you can handle it without a thought of it slipping out of your hands, but it is smooth enough were you can easily slide it in and out of your pockets without any problem of it catching. Surprisingly with the case being so low profile it does very well about protecting the phone, I have dropped my phone quite a few time now from about 4 feet (accidentally), and so far no damage base been done. My job as a truck driver is not very physical, i have yet to drop my phone from the cab onto the ground but I am sure it is a matter of time. This case is not water resistant but I have spilt a cup or two on a table it was set on, and the case does buy you time to remove the phone and wipe off the small amount of water

Works great. Easy to take off when I need to switch out my battery but fits snuggly despite being off and on. I have dropped a few times from about 5 ft and the case took care of my G5. There was a slight mark where it hit but the case didn't get all scraped up either which is nice..The case IS slippery. Not much grip and the case also has an issue with the volume keys. I have learned now but for the past couple weeks would tend to change the volume as the case makes the keys sensitive. Also,if I slightly press volume up or volume down, it will react the opposite volume direction (annoying).I have been using this case for a month now. I gave it 4 stars because it protects the phone well,does not interfere with pictures from the 135 deg. Lens or anything I need to plug in like aux. Or chargers.

Case is very stylish and attractive and compliments the phone well. I purchased it with a separate holster made by Encased (Also available on Amazon) which I highly recommend if you are old school like me and like to have your phone on your belt at work.So I have used the case for a few days now and I while I do like the case overall I feel the TPU material could have been made slightly more tacky. It's not to say that the case is bad, but I have found myself on more than one occasion having the phone accidentally slip in my hand. No major drops yet, so I can't comment on the protectiveness of this product. I have used cases from Seido and Ballistic on my phones before and they had just the right texture to avoid slipping in the hand. The Seido was a particularly good favorite and it can be purchased with a holster. My wife uses a cheap $5 gel case she purchased on ebay and it is minimal but has great feel to it. Granted the material allows the case to slip in and out of the tightest pockets with ease, I would still prefer this case with a better grip so I could avoid possible drops as my first defense against drops. I will revise this review with an update and more stars should this case prove me wrong in the next few months. It was inexpensive so not a heavy bummer in any way.

In my opinion, this case, is not only attracting but also effective. Making this case the most efficient case for my needs. Slim design and good protection. I'm sure in a head to head battle verse an otter box it wouldn't come out on top... But the otter box would almost double the size. So I compromised a little and honestly could not be happier.. This case meets the requirements for certification of standard drop test of the untied States armed forces and does it with style. It's true that it will not add a "water proof" element but I have never gone swimming with my phone in my pocket. Never showered, taken a bath, been caught in a flood or walked thru an automated car wash.. I don't think I need it to be water proof... Also I combined tempered glass and neither the case nor glass interfere with each other. Very satisfied... **if** I ever needed another case this would without doubt be my choice

A phone case is essential if you want your phone to survive its contract life, or generally last more than a few weeks and a night out. Having lost a few to drops and falls over the years, I've become a convert to wrapping my phone in cellular bodyarmour. The Spigen Rugged Armour does exactly this. The case grips the phone tight and adds a few mm of hard plastic to the circumference of the phone. I haven't yet dropped it - I'm going to let fate intervene here - but it has been knocked about in my jacket pocket and rucksack, without any issues. So good so far. However, I would state that the nature of the case and the force that it grips the phone can cause issues for any screen protector you may have installed. I was using a thick plastic protector but this kept on peeling off at the edges. Lucky I had a slight lighter protector I could use. I still get a little movement on the edges but not enough to cause me any major issues. Air pockets more than anything. Please note you can't use this and the B&O dac or any other module that adds to the size of the phone.

This case has been amazing for me. Im extremely clumsy and i would probably have needed a new phone by now id id got any other case. This sounds like a bouncy ball when you drop it from say i really high place like down your stairs and bounces along your hallway and hits your front door. And my poor phone was fully protected. Also free from twin toddlees who thought it would be funny to hold it againt the wall one day and let it hit the skirting board and did it about 5xs until i realised it was indeed my phone. Haha. I love this case. Its looks nice aswel. And not bulky. Very happy

I've been using this case for around 4 months, and it's offered great protection to my LG G5. It's does add bulk to the handset, but not an unacceptable amount and less than some alternatives I've seen. Having dropped my phone from a height of around 50cm twice, once onto a hard wood floor and the second time onto a tiled floor, the phone is none the worse and the case not a mark.The case looks pretty good, feels nice in the hand and really good value for money. Another bonus is the case gives the phone a much better grip in the hand than having no case at all.

Absolutely brilliant product. Had it two years almost and despite dropping my phone several times on various surfaces from differing heights, it hasn't got one scratch on it and I've never cracked the screen. And I personally think the case is wholly responsible.I've just bought the same case from the same company for the Samsung S8 I'm getting in a few days.I think it's fair to say that this company has a customer for life, and I don't often say that.

Is was a very lovely case to begin with, very strong and rugged and kept my phone in top condition. However I use a screen protector on my phone and I found that the case kept on lifting it off the screen. Because the way the case is made, it has a slight curve over the top going onto the front of the phone and this is what I found was the reason the screen protector was coming off. So now because of this I'm unable to use the case.
