I'm a shirt snob and this is my new basic tee
I'm a t-shirt snob. I'm very picky about the way a tee fits my torso and the texture of the fabric, and not one to take a chance on buying any random shirt, especially if I don't know the fabric ratio. You won't find regular spun cotton shirts, or 100% poly, or graphic tees with plastisol inks in my closet -- they're all just irritating to my skin. At the same time, I am not an idiot willing to spend up to $90 on the supposed most luxurious tee (yes, those people do exist). I'm both frugal and obsessive, and it has been my mission to find a good, basic tee for under $12 despite the chances being as remote as finding Bigfoot.I first discovered "Next Level" at an Austin gift shop, looking for a souvenir shirt. The girl I was with told me "Next Level, that's a good brand. Lot of screen printers use them." So years later, I now decide that I need new basic, solid black V-Necks and my usual brands for this sort of very basic thing either discontinued their once-high quality, soft, basic tees (often rung-spun cotton, 60/40 or tri-blends) or replaced them with an inferior product. So I remembered the tag on the shirt I bought in Austin, typed it in and here they are selling the basic version of what I already purchased. Except these shirts are even higher quality.SIZE/FIT:I'm a medium with a compact frame, so I look very child-like or formless if my shirt is not fitted to my shoulders, chest and arms. This shirt does that perfectly, and if you have a bigger upper body -- all the better for you as the stretch accentuates the upper body without becoming tight, restricting or too revealing. Like a good shirt meant for an adult male, it bellows a bit towards the stomach giving you some "breathing room" after a heavy lunch so a small to medium belly is mostly obscured.tldr: it's flattering for the male figure. If you'd like to keep the form fit for your shoulders and arms, but less so elsewhere in areas you may want to obscure -- size up.FABRIC:The tri-blend fabric, as expected, is very soft and this shirt is definitely an exception. I have many tri-blends in my closet, mostly graphic tees, and there is a significant uptick in the quality despite the same 50/25/25 fabric blend. That could be some aging, maybe the screen printing process, hard to tell. Now, the description doesn't say it but this blend with rayon has a bit of moisture wicking properties. I tested it out, and the shirt absorbs quickly and allows moisture to evaporate, keeping you very dry. However, the more wicking going on, the deeper the oils transfer into the inner fabrics -- so if you use synthetic, performance wicking shirts you probably already know this but -- it will STINK after just one day of little to no sweating. That's the cost of doing business when you wanna keep dry.NECK:The V-Neck is perfect for me, plunging just enough to give my torso a more V shape, but not enough to reveal the thick, black nest of hair only an inch deeper. Now, just my humble tip if you are not sure what kind of neck you want in a shirt: if you have a short neck -- go with the V; if you have a longer neck -- go with crew. The V helps lengthen the neck, and subsequently broadening the shoulders from the torso (literally, giving you an upside-down triangle shape), and is best for men who have a more compact or barrel frame, e.g. small shoulders and short necks. Crew neck doesn't provide much shaping but if you don't need a V, wearing one could make you look more lanky. Anyway, this brand sells both and I can attest to both shirt types -- they're good.COLOR:Black is absolutely jet black with a bit of charcoal, love it. White is kind of more "oatmeal" with the heathered look, not my favorite and not sure what to pair with it (but probably a jacket or overshirt with a more busy design). Military green is more saturated, more of an olive and not exactly the classic army green but I still like it. Navy is a bit more on the gray side, and will probably be mistaken for such but still worthwhile. I did not try the gray since that color is dreadfully unforgiving after a little bit of sweat. I would never wear royal blue, turquoise, tomato red, or leprechaun green ("Envy" is a very misleading name for it) in public so you're on your own there. All around, I recommend this product completely, but hope they continue adding more colors and redefining their color accuracy e.g. true army green and true deep navy colors.

Almost what I was looking for
A little bit too long and the V-neck is a little bit too big for my taste but I’m keeping them. I am 160 pounds and the large is a little bit too big for me. I did buy a large in their crewneck same brand and it fit me perfectly so I guess it varies.

Really nice feel and fit for a fair price.
Fabric has a nice hand (feel) fair price. Have some that are quite old. Just purchased more. I’m 5’10” 185# I buy Large to fit snug, not tight but snug. I buy XL when I want a bit more room.

This is the brand that Fresh Cle@n Tees and True Cl@ssc Tees Use
After seeing many reviews and U tube videos about how other brands are using Next Level brands, removing the labels, and reselling under their own brand at 200% markup, I had to see for myself. These are the real deal. I'm a hefty but solid guy, 5'11" ~260#, with a little thickness around the middle. I bought the XXL. The cut of these shirts is absolutely amazing to say the least. They have a deeper v cut neckline, which actually makes you appear taller. The shoulders are cut with a slope to them for more of a muscular build, and the sleeves are cut at an appropriate length and just the right amount of tightness around the biceps, but not too tight! I will definitely be buying more of these.

Comfortable but not durable
My husband loves his Next Level Tri-Blend crew neck shirts, so I wanted a couple for myself. The women's shirt is cut too low for me, so I ordered a men's V-neck in two colors. The heather navy is almost black. Although the color isn't very appealing, the shirt is very comfortable. The fabric seems to absorb perspiration without feeling wet and clammy. The other shirt is a bright, attractive spring green. However, after 2 washings, the stitching around the bottom is starting to come out. Since my husband's shirts have withstood repeated washings, I guess this one shirt didn't get the VIP treatment at the factory for some reason. My shirt should be good as new after a trip to Wal-Mart to buy matching thread, and then a short session at the sewing machine, but I would have preferred not to have to bother. For the price I paid, I guess I shouldn't expect it to last.

Soft and Lightweight
I ordered this tee for my 16-year-old son in navy, charcoal and vintage black. I cannot tell the difference between the charcoal and vintage black. They came in 2 different shipments, so maybe they came from different locations/warehouse and someone sent the wrong color for one. I don't know. We are keeping them both because my son can always use an extra dark tee.A few things about this tee:It is made of the newer, softer and thinner t-shirt material. If you want a "beefy t," this isn't it.The white/light striations in the material are more visible on all 3 tees than the image suggests. So, my son can't wear this, for example, with plaid shorts. But it looks great with solid color and denim shorts, and even patterned shorts whose pattern is more of a neutral due to color and/or scale. They look stylish! The v-neck is not too low. It is the current higher v-neck trend you see in mens' fashion now.Washes well. Throw in the dryer.
