Truly easy to play
I've been playing the piano for about a year. This book complements my regular lesson book. The songs are simplified arrangements of the originals. It's nice to add jazz standards to the traditional classical pieces that one normally plays when first taking piano lessons.

Very basic
Much too basic for our purposes. This is for a true beginner.

Great song collection! Beautiful arrangements!
Perfect arrangements for late beginners and intermediate piano players. I’m an older adult coming back to the piano. I love the beautiful arrangements of my favorite old standards!

A mix of show tunes and standards, well arranged
I'm a second year piano student, and these pieces are just within reach of me. The chording and arrangements are well done and sound very good.If you look at the song selection, there's really only a few jazz standards, these are predominately show and movie tunes from the 1930's. Still, good to learn.

Very disappointing
Very disappointing. As an early intermediate pianist and singer I had a great deal of difficulty working with what were fairly familiar tunes. On one song I figured out why I was having so much difficulty, the author had taken a well known 4/4 standard tune and morph it into 3/4 time? Who does that? I don’t think I can trust another song in this book.

Great book of simplified jazz standards
I deliberately waited a while before writing this so I had a chance to try a few songs out and see if I actually keep using the book. Success on both counts - it's my main book for learning recreational piano pieces. For context, I'm not doing exams but am probably somewhere around grade 3. Even though the pieces are simplified, the ones I have tried sound good and "complete", so you can fake a reasonably pleasant sounding jazz noise :)Despite the simplification, there are a few tricky fingerings here and there but nothing a good teacher couldn't help you with. And of course it's jazz so forget about chords with only three notes ... but that's what makes it sound more interesting!

Excellent book for those who love palying the Piano
A very fine book of 50 Jazz standards that people who love music would like to play. The book is extremely good but a little expensive as probably it is imported.
