Purchased for Sun Protection...I like it but really SPF 30?
I purchased this liner primarily for sun protection while cycling, as my head is shaved.Fit: My forehead measures ~23" and it fits fine. If I want to pull it over my ears, it will cover close to half my ears. Otherwise I can leave it above the ears just fine.Sweat: I live in California, and for my 90 min rides in 65-85 degree weather, it seems to soak the sweat ok, precluding the need for a sweat band. Also, the material is sheer, so I can feel the wind when I ride fast enoughDurability: I have only used this a dozen times, but have not experienced the durability issues noted by others. I generally hand wash, sometimes throw it in the washer. However, I always hang dry it, never in the dryer.Sun protection: This is the primary reason for the purchase, but at the same time I am not confident of the seller's "SPF 30" rating. First, SPF is for sunscreen, not clothing. For clothing, UPF is the measure. In addition, white is the worst color for UV protection. Last, it is very sheer (like the back of cycling gloves), I can see through this more that my polyester sleeves. So unless there is some special coating, I don't know about the SPF 30. If this is actually UPF 30, I would rate it a "5". If less, a "3" or "2". Since I have no idea, I landed on 4 stars. My head usually starts to itch after about 30 mins of riding. If it was an 8 out of 10, with this liner I would say that it reduced it to a 4-5. I have no idea if the itch is caused by sun, sweat or something else and everyone is different so take this feedback with a grain of salt!

No more burnt dome
First off - it didn't buy this as a helmet liner. The primary purpose was to get something that would protect my dome from burning while I was playing outdoor soccer in the middle of the day. Due to excessive sweat while playing, sun screen typically vacates my mellon within 15min. Problem solved! Wore this during a game that started at 2:15pm - sun blazing from above. I was planning to take it off after halftime (45min later), but since it wasn't bothering me I kept it on. Another benefit was that I had much less sweat running down my forehead into my eyes. Might have helped that I rolled the bottom part up once (covering the SPEG logo). The second time I worn this was at the beach (90+ degree weather) under a bucket hat. Wanted to see how well it would keep the hat from getting soaked with sweat. I was pretty surprised that not only was my hat minimally damp after a couple hours, but my head was cooler than when I've worn the hat without the liner in similar circumstances. The only negative that I can raise is when I wore it as a liner with my bucket hat, the stitching along the top gave me deep creases on my dome. They didn't hurt at all, but I did look a little awkward for a couple hours after taking it off. Gonna try it inside out next time I use it as a liner and see if that helps any.All in all, it did the trick and I'm more than satisfied (especially for only ~$12)!

No more helmet vent hole sunburn pattern on my head and it fits well.
Bicycling in south florida means high exposure to UV in the summertime. After the damaged skin treatment during my last dermatologist visit, I decided my 7 5/8 hat size balding head needed more sun protection than a bicycle helmet could provide. This thin cap does the trick. The fit is fine, possibly even a little large. On me, it covers to just above the ear. So far, 90 degree heat with 77% humidity has been the worst day I have worn this cap. Cooling, if any, is not pronounced, but I don't feel any hotter and the sweat doesn't go running down my face or onto my sun glasses. I don't need a sweat band with the cap. I get no burn and don't have to worry about sun screen coverage in an area I can't directly see while spraying it on.I spray the cap off with my water bottle after each ride, it's dry in a few hours. Wish I had more hair, but that isn't going to happen. In the meantime, this little cap will do just fine.At spf 30, the manufacturer recommends using sunscreen with the cap, but so far, I haven't needed it, Glad I found a cap that is effective at limiting sun damage, fits well, and is made with a wicking/cooling material that is comfortable in our tropical environment. This is a great summer cap. It is not heavy enough for winter use in a cold climate.January update: After three month of four times a week use, this cap is still in fine shape and doing it's job.

Totally recommend
At first, I didn't think that this liner will be sufficient, I thought of returning it and getting a biking cup. I took it for a long (22 miles) MTB ride across Catalina Island in full mid-day sun (around 80 deg. F.). The liner was very useful, as it kept the sweat out of my eyes, and protecting my skull from sun-burn. Also, it ventilated extremely well. I have a small head and the liner feet me very well, my coworker has a large head and he used the same size liner, it seems that the liner has just the right amount of stretch to accommodate various sizes.7/11/2020 update:I have been using this cup since October 2017, and have been using it several times a week for road and MTB riding, also washing it every two/three rides. Even though the labels come off relatively early, the stitching is still holding very well and beside signs of often use, the cap is holding extremely well. I have decided to try different caps (at a lower price) and today I have returned them all and re-purchased this one. The stitching is very well done as it does not mark (as much as others) and indents on the skin, also the overlapping of the material is small but very strong as it is still holding as new.If you are looking for a thin, lightweight, well ventilating, sun protecting, sweat absorbing and very comfortable liner, then do give this one a try. Don't need to thank me, just enjoy your ride!
