Large readable display

My old puck computer died and I decided on this model for its large display. So much easier to see. Two-button operation is also much nicer than one-button. Comes with a nice case. Watch style wrist strap and elastic lanyard included.

Great scuba dive computer for all levels of experience

I’m an avid scuba diver and needed a reliable back up dive computer. This computer is very easy to read under water with nice clear figures. It provides all the key elements for scuba diving. Simple to use and easy to set up. I would recommend to all levels of scuba divers.

Wish I had bought this one first

Love this dive computer. My i300c leaked and destroyed it. This computer is rechargeable so it is water tight. Is much easier to read at depth and easier to set up for your dive. Highly recommend!

Easy to use

Other than no fly time, this dive computer is intuitive. I only tried to use the manual after finding a no fly time, Shearwater doesn’t use them, I never had to read the manual to figure anything else out. My wife’s Suunto turned into a non intuitive nightmare. Nitros and air options simply disappeared off the menus. The only info we could find suggested those options weren’t available until no fly time reached zero. We are getting rid of it and getting another one of these. We have had a couple of other computers fairly recently and used several we rented. This is by far the easiest to use.

A perfect recreational -> early tech computer

I have two other Shearwaters - a Predator wired into my rebreather and a Petrel 2 that is my usual backup or primary open circuit computer. I needed another backup computer and found that my box of older devices wasn't going to cut it. Long story short, I purchased the Peregrine knowing that it was an entry level Shearwater and that's fine. I only need nitrox and gauge mode on this one, no need for air integration. The familiarity of the interface was a decision factor as was the cost.It used to be the case that dive shops would sell newcomers a basic computer knowing that if they got more involved, there would be more computer sales in the future. Shearwater have upended this approach even with the Peregrine since it'll see you through entry to Nitrox based deco dives. The wireless charging is a nice feature, especially when I learned the charger is a standard Qi device. If you ever lose it, just get a commodity charger!Best for rec->early tech divers. If you need a computer with more than three gases in the future, the Peregrine becomes a great gauge/bottom timer. Good as a casual backup for open circuit dives with air or nitrox and 'simple' deco dives.

Great

I've wanted a Shearwater for years, since my eyes started having trouble seeing my smaller computer under water, but the price always deterred me.I had a big trip to the Philippines planned when this showed up as a suggested purchase.I thought, "Man! This would have been the perfect trip to get this for, if I really do ever plan to buy one!" Then, I realized there was no way it would show up in time since I would be on an early plane in 2 days."Get It Tomorrow!" appeared.I told myself I was crazy, but I hit the purchase button. It arrived on the next day, was so easy, not only to set up but to understand, which could have been bad to not know how to work it on my dives with no time to learn. I had no problems and 24 dive later, this is the best, easiest to use computer I've ever had.

Impressed

We did a two-week dive trip in Bonaire and the Peregrine Dive Computer worked great!Highlight - In the 12 days that we were there diving, I didn't have to charge it once! As a matter of fact it had more than 50% battery life remaining. I am far sighted, but the display was very easy to see!Cons - If you surface for a minute to get your bearings and you need to descend again, it sees it as a new dive. This is a little annoying, because if you want to see the number of actual dives you need to delete those short intervals. The only bummer is that I hit some coral rubble when exiting a dive and it scratched the heck out of the lens. I wish that there was a easy way of replacing that.

Love!

Wonderful dive computer. Large display, easy to read underwater. I love the vibration feature, not beeping and causing mayhem underwater.
