This is concerning the Original blend I thought it was pleasantly spicy, one or my guests thought it was a little to hot for them. So be aware if you like mild chili this is not for you. I also made it with Butler's Soy Curls instead of beef so it would be vegetarian for Lent. Easy and quick to make for a quick meal.

Enough spice for about a pound and a half of beef's worth of chili. I end up doctoring the spices at the end, but it's a great start when I throw everything in the crockpot.

I am not what you would call "a good cook". No , let's be honest, I am a terrible cook ( but then so was my mother- no really). My husband and I love chile and appreciate it whenever we have it in eateries or made by friends/family. I bought this once upon a time on a whim, thinking it has to at least be better than my dabbling with herbs and spices- balancing the right spices in the right amounts can be tricky and I used to have to throw out uneaten meals because I had too much of this spice, too little of that spice or the balancing of the spices was not correct before I found this wonderful, inexpensive little packet. Now I won't be without it. The instructions are so simple, even I can follow them- brown meat. drain. mix ingredients- which are listed on the packet- no need to search for a recipe elsewhere..... cook/simmer/serve. ( more or less that simple). It's great with ground beef or even ground turkey. I have even doubled the amount of beans to stretch the meal but also to get more beans into the meal and didn't notice any difference in the taste. I very much appreciate this product and unless you are a good cook- and even if you are- I am saying that you might find this a handy product to have available.
