Behrens BEHRENS-1210GS 1210GS 10-Quart Galvanized Steel Pail

There's a couple of whiney reviews fussing about the quality of the galvanizing and construction - maybe good ol' Behrens is having a bit of a quality control problem, but MY EXAMPLE IS FLAWLESS.I needed an ash bucket for my steel firepit (it's actually a tank end - looks like a big bowl on legs). I saw many a cutesie ash bucket for sale here for big bux that looked to me they'd surivive just fine in front of the fireplace as a decorative item, but I needed someting that was going to sit outside year around on the patio. A good old fashioned steel bucket ought work just fine.Okay, so they added about four bux to the price for shipping - you can find 'em listed at the local hardware store for that much less but you still have to order it and then ya hafta go get it. Or pay for shipping. I gave up trying to find one locally and just ordered the darn thing. Well they did in fact use those extra bux or shipping - it was here pronto. Yay seller!I'll admit it's not anywhere near as heavy as the buckets I grew up with on the farm, but I'm not going to milk a cow to it or carry feed in it. I'll see what it looks like in a year and update this review - it'll either be a pile of rust or look like it did when it came. My bet looking at it is it'll look like new.

I haven't used it yet but plan to use it to dredge sand from under my dock and use the sand to fill in low areas in my yard. I'll tie a rope (about 10') to the bucket, throw it to the end of the rope and pull it across the bottom, filling the bucket.

This is a great, sturdy bucket. I got it for hauling ash out of my fireplace and fire pit. I saw complaints about it not looking great in the reviews. It's not meant to be a decorative bucket... It's for actual use and it holds up great. Very sturdy and serves it's exact purpose. Sticker doesn't peal off great, but that's fine - use some goo gone if it bothers you.

I needed a good quality pail and this one sure fits the bill. It’s built very well and it’s sealed on the seams so it doesn’t leak. I’m very pleased with my purchase, so I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a galvanized steel bucket, with a handle, that holds water look no further. This bucket has it all. Galvanized steel, a handle, and excellent water retention capabilities. You could even try different sorts of liquids, like milk, spaghetti sauce, and mayonnaise. One could even go crazy and put solids in it like rocks or sand!!!!Because it has the handle you can then carry your liquids or solids any location you desire.Five big stars!(Or if you have a giant Great Dane you could use as a watering dish.)

I went to Walmart a few years ago and purchased a bucket. I wake up one day and decide I would like to have another bucket. I go to the same Walmart. I asked 3 people where the buckets are. 2 people have no idea, the third asks me what I want it for. I said and I quote, 'to hold water.' he shows me plant containers. I go on Amazon and voila! I found these and purchased a few. Amazon may not know how to upgrade a Kindle but at least they know what a bucket is. Congrats, I love it!

This pale is made of steel and has a very nice weight to it. It is nice looking and can be used in so many different ways. Very versatile whether you are looking for something for storage, display or even as a cleaning pale. I have drilled a few holes in the bottom and filled with crushed stone to use a planter for my small arborvitae used to decorate my front staircase/entrance. I would recommend and already have an order for another size/sizes.

I've purchased several of these Behrens galvanized pails and find that the quality is first rate. We're going through a long drought and these pails are used primarily to move around re-purposed gray water. I bought the 10-qt. size for my wife because she found that the 12 and 14 qt. pails are a bit heavy when full. The 10 qt. size is perfect in this respect. Again, regarding the quality, I'm very impressed with Behrens. I also bought a few of their old school galvanized trash barrels at our local Lowes store. A little more expensive than the plastic, but these metal cans won't dry up and crack. I expect them to last a very long time.
