Worked well as described

Unlike the popular Westek SLC6CBC-4, this baby keeps your preferred setting regardless of power interruption. The knob keeps things crystal clear and definite, and a number of flashes provides extra confirmation of what setting is active.This unit is well-made, and works like a charm in my outdoor light by the front door, which has a standard 700-lumen LED bulb. Nice to have the light automatically on each dusk, then off as few as two hours later, to save power. It’s great, and a good value!

This sensor didn't work for us. the first night was fine, but the second night it just started flickering on and off. No adjustment or even complete covering of the daylight sensor would make it work. I read other bad reviews but had to take a chance. Just a waste of $ in the end.

I must have gotten one of the good ones. I have had it installed for three weeks now, and have had zero issues with it. Turns on when it gets dark in the evening, and cuts off in the morning. I set it for the dusk setting and it has worked fine.I mounted it in an old Gas Lampost in the yard of my parents that was converted to an electric light several years ago. When they converted it, they did not install a switch, and ran the wiring through conduit and tied into an existing power cable from an outside socked that was mounted in the block foundation. The end of the house where this ties in is very low. So I was looking for a easy way out, that would keep me from running a swith leg and crawling under a very low crawl space. This was the ticked.Easy installation, just screw it into the socket, then screw in the bulb. On a side note, the housing that his is mounted into is weatherproof, and probably has three to four inches distance from the sides of the glass, and the bulb has about 4 to 5 inches room above it. As I said, this is a converted Gas Lamp housing, It has a lid that has a lip that turns down with vents in it, to dissipate heat and gasses, so even though I am using a 65 watt bulb, I am sure there is no chance of overheating. Just my theory, I believe the overheating issue or being exposed to the elements could be what was causing some people problems.

Very early -- granted - but it's exceeded expectation. I screwed it inside an old dual outdoor floodlight fixture from the '70s along with a lightweight LED bulb. The Westek is buried so deep within the gray metal fixture that I almost conceded and set it to 8 hours instead of dawn to dusk. Instead I gave it a shot and it has performed perfectly so far, turning off at the ideal time. The other end of the spectrum is actually the curiosity. The Westek turns on the bulb nearly a half hour earlier than other dual brite fixtures I have outside the house.I appreciate it so much I ordered another one to pair with the same type bulb on the other flank of that old '70s fixture.

Unsure if working as intended or broken when put on the random setting. It will randomly stay on for a couple days, or an hour or stay off for a week,

I've been using this product for about a couple of months so far, and it's been working great! The old Westek programmable light timer did not work when there is an electric outage. This new model does not need to reset the timer after the outage, that means we don't need to worry whether the timer is working or not any more when we are out of town! By the way, dusk to dawn setting did not work with our front porch lamp --it turns on at dusk, but it wouldn't turn off at dawn-- I think because our lamp never gets the direct sun light. So I set the timer at "8 hours" and it's working very well.

The product worked as expected from the beginning. It went on at dusk, and off at dawn. If I wanted to turn it off sooner, I turned it off. When you turned it back on, it would flicker to confirm that it was ready. This was all good. However, after 4 months, it no longer goes on automatically. Now I have use the switch, which is why I bought this in the first place. Apparently it is under designed as I see other failures with passing time as well.

On the package it says to not use with frosted light fixtures. This information was missing on the description. It means this turns on earlier and turns off later which is fine but should have been mentioned.

Worked great for about 8 months on the dawn/dusk setting. Then started to slowly flicker, turning off for 10 seconds, then on for a minute, then off again, repeat.
