Really clarifies the learning process.

The product delivered did not meet expectations based on the description. The text book does NOT include the access to "Achieve" when you purchase a new book. This is misleading, since the description for the new hardcover text book devotes two of it's three paragraphs to the benefits of "Achieve", the online learning platform that is a companion to the book.It's important to note that even though the description for the basic hardcover text book includes this write up, you do not get it with a straight up purchase of a new text book. Access to "Achieve" is a "supplement" that costs an additional $156.This is very misleading advertising. If this had been clear, I would have bought a used text book and saved $100 instead. The product delivered did not meet expectations based on the description.

I recommend. I feel that this chemistry book is more readable than other books I've read. I particularly enjoy how logically it develops its definitions. For example, when explaining filtration, it states "... Liquid from which a substance precipitates or crystallizes is called the 'mother liquor'. Liquid that passes through the filter is called 'filtrate'." And, this might sound like a small thing, but it really helped familiarize myself with the vocabulary and then follow along during lecture. Plus, it wasn't just with filtration, but also its quick definition of "proteonics" and its explanation for metal ion extraction with a "chelator".
