Muir Glen Organic Diced Fire Roasted Tomatoes, 14.5 oz (Pack of 12)

I love this brand and the taste of fire roasted tomatoes. It’s definitely a splurge, but worth it.

Add a can or two to pasta sauces or soups made homemade and they are great. If you add to pasta sauce drain some of the liquid off though.

There is something to be said about simplicity in food and this product certainly defines that. I personally do not spend the majority of my time looking for organic products, reading labels to confirm a lack of gluten, or rinsing cans for evidence of BPA. I'm an adult. I don't have that kind of time to spend worrying about miniscule details of the food I eat nor, quite frankly, should I have to. I simply do my best to find food and products that aren't overtly unhealthy for me, are of a quality that justifies their price, and - perhaps most importantly - taste good and are edible.I've never been very impressed with canned goods. As a child, I ate so much of them that I'd lost my liking for them. Then, considering that I really didn't have the time or space to commit to a garden of my own yet wanting more than tomato puree to be part of my diet, I sifted through a few of the vendors and happily came across this offering from Muir Glen. I ordered a few cans of this product as a trial run. I tried the first can with a long standing recipe I created in college and I haven't looked back. Hunts simply can't compare to this quality or to the depth and less industrialized taste of this product as a whole. There's a quality of flavor that I really can't describe and the flavor profile is unbelievable, going with just about any main dish as either an ingredient or stand alone side dish. I'm not really sure if Muir Glen does anything to it or just manages to always find an outstanding tomato crop to can, but this one is always at the top of my shopping list. This brand isn't sold where I live, so Amazon can always expect an order with this on it from me.

We have loved the Muir Glen organic tomatoes ever since a major “cook’s” magazine that is always well “illustrated” awarded these first place in a taste comparison. However, recently, zero canned tomatoes of any type are presently found in our normally well stocked market. Finding a case of these here is a Godsend. Pair with some Muir Glen organic tomato paste, some garlic, salt, pepper and oregano and you’ll have a sauce that beats even those $10 jarred pasta sauces. Delizioso!PS-If craving chili, spice this up and add some kidney beans with whatever else you have on hand. Awesome, too!

I am very happy to have found these fire roasted tomatoes on the Amazon.com website, I got tired of going to the supermarket and finding no cans of fire roasted tomatoes, it seems that the grocery sores keep running out of canned goods products but I am delighted to have found them on Amazon.com. This brand of fire roasted tomatoes have great flavor and better value for the money than the grocery stores. I saw several reviews that stated that most their cans arrived dented but I receive my case of 12 with only 2 cans with a slight dent in the center (no harm done), the packaging was terrific. I am very happy with my purchase and I will definitely buy them again.

These are the best tasting canned tomatoes I have ever tried. They are so sweet I checked the label again to insure there is no added sugar (there is not). They are doing something special to allow these tomatoes to get so ripe and then canning them fresh. The only reason I could not give them 5 stars is because the cans arrived in a pristine cardboard box and when I opened the box I found the cardboard flat sealed with plastic and well packaged with air packs. When I opened the flat and removed the cans there were three cans that had small dents in them and they were packed in the inside of the flat where it would be impossible for the can to get dented in shipping. The cans were obviously dented before they were loaded into the flat. My case had 3 of 12 dented and the dents were pretty small so I still plan on using the product. I just don't buy dented cans in the grocery store so I'm not going give them the highest rating.

Am starting to stock my little log cabin for the winter, and a case of these tomatoes had an excellent price. In addition, I really enjoy tomatoes that are fire roasted! So, a win-win situation all the way around.The other thing that I really appreciated is that the case was delivered to my front door. It doesn't get any better than that for me.Taste tested one -half of a can last night and they are really good. Will see how the winter progresses and will definitely re-order if I get snowed in or start to run low on my supply!Edited on 10 October to add that the amount of liquid in these tomatoes is minimal. So, the weight is for the tomatoes and not the added liquid. Most manufacturers add more liquid and have less tomatoes. Just another reason I do like this brand.Highly recommended.

These are delicious tomatoes.Tomatoes are on the 'hot' list, they are one of the foods that usually have more pesticides than other vegetables and fruits. Whenever possible, berries, apples, peppers, and tomatoes should be organic.These have the little char bits, and a nice sweet flavor.This is a 5 star product, and my review is based on the product.I'm very happy that I can choose to buy a can of organic tomatoes.I love the taste, but why has Muir Glen has contributed $520,000 to defeat proposition 37?Proposition 37 gives us the right to know if our food has been genetically engineered. You might be absolutely fine with GMOs, you might not. But you have a right to make a choice about your food.Just as you are choosing an organic product, you have the right to choose a non GMO product.
