Magic
Riding better than I did in my 20s at age 55. Running times on par with local hotshots on $7000 bikes equipped with 29” wheels and multi geared drivetrains, modern geometry, on a 2003 26” hardtail singlespeed with a 100 mm travel Recon. (65 psi).More lively handling, quicker turning, better handling of technical multi root features, better recovery from understeer moments on sand over hardpack… less back pain from step ups and riding position, almost no hand numbness, easier to sit up and steer with no hands, and to reach out and retake the bar…The old geometry (which came from road bikes FFS) idealized a bar height that was lower than your seat height. That was heinous, and combined with square taper cranks, probably reduced my interest in riding to zero for the last 10-15 years. SRAM cranks and the WTB Koda saddle, and higher rise bars, culminating with this bar, have changed my life, and I’m riding just about every day for 1.5 hours, with no pain, and I’ve lost 35 lbs in six months.Riding through woods at speed on this bike is now like returning to my kid level of joy, with my adult level expertise — it’s a magic carpet.UPDATE: my 20 year old Spot singlespeed frame succumbed to a head-on impact with a tree — this bar is now mounted to the Spot Rocker singlespeed in the picture, and it’s still kicking ass.I’m building up a 26” wayback machine (a red&black 1999 Fisher Hoo Koo like the one I bought in ‘99) — I’ll be running it with another Cruise Control bar and a geared drivetrain.I’m also building up a 26” cruiser/klunker/beater and I sure want to put one of these on it, but I’ll have to go with some less expensive (22.2mm diameter) steel bar for that.

Nice handlebars
The change in ergonomics was much appreciated, especially as a taller rider. Having a less aggressive riding style, sitting more uptight is appreciated. The retro BMX style is kinda cool too. Obviously height, width, and grip angle are all subjective.

Sturdy and great lift / sweep / span
I’m on my third set of handlebars and think these are the keepers. Had Jones bar on my Trek Fuel but it didn’t fit my new Aventon Ramblas without requiring extensive wire lengthening. I bought another brand bar but felt it was a little “light weight” for my beast of an e-bike. The cross bar on this gives a noticeable uptick in control. Absolutely love it.

Great option for raising a handlebar
My Cannondale bike has a shock absorber in the stem that prevented me from using an insert to raise the handlebar. This replacement not only raised the height but gave me a wider grip that is much more comfortable. It may now require a new derailleur cable because the new geometry has greatly reduced cable slack and shifting isn’t as smooth. It’s an expected possibility with a wider and higher handlebar.

Very sturdy feeling
I was having neck and back pain riding a vintage mountain bike. I wanted bars with a lot of rise but still be strong and not look goofy. These did the trick, and I kinda like the look.
