My Dog's New Favorite Chew

I picked this up for my dog, and she absolutely loved it. After just one lick, she was hooked and spent three hours gnawing away. I eventually had to take it away so she'd have something to enjoy the next day. What I really appreciate is that it doesn't splinter like some other chews we've tried. It's all-natural, which gives me peace of mind, and it keeps her occupied for hours—a real win-win.The only downside is the smell when she's chewing on it. It's a bit strong, but I suppose that's to be expected with natural products.Pros:Long-lasting and keeps my dog engagedDoesn't splinter, making it safer than some alternativesAll-natural ingredientsGreat for dental healthCons:Strong odor during chewingOverall, it's a fantastic treat that my dog adores. Despite the smell, I'll definitely be purchasing more.

Our dogs love them, even the one that generally isn't a chewer

Both of our dogs dug in immediately and chewed thoughtfully (at least that's always the expression on their faces when they're working on a chewable object) for a long time when they first got them. One of our dogs isn't big on chewing stuff - almost never chews a rawhide for example - but he seemed to enjoy this a lot. Both of them came back to the horns over the next few days until they got them down to a size small enough we took them away out of concern for the risk of choking.Just be aware... they will smell awful. I suspect that's a big part of what turns the dogs on. When they bring them over to me offering to "share" I am very careful to not breathe in much... But hey, these aren't for me to chew on so my opinion of the smell really isn't important. We've re-bought a couple times. Pricier than some alternatives, but knowing these are from Iceland, we trust they probably don't have any food supply chain issues.

No Marrow

This is the second time I've purchased. They are supposed to be bone marrow filled. Only the small size are filled with marrow. I ordered the large 2x trying to get the marrow filled horns and they are empty. The empty horns are much more brittle and do splinter. I only want marrow filled for a large dog.

Safety First

As a veterinarian, I can’t recommend these enough. They are safe for dogs to chew on because they soften while they chew them which is great for protecting their teeth. They will not cause tooth fractures like bones or antlers. They entertain dogs and give them something safe to chew on. They do have a smell to them when they are chewed on but you get used to it. My dogs love them and I always keep them on hand to help satisfy their need to chew.

Picky eater loved them

I just received these, gave one to Gizmo and he liked them and he's so picky.

Too expensive for the size of it.

its very inconsistent in size. My dog loves it, but sometimes like the last order was very small and it finished within 2 days. I think they should charge less for a smaller size and if its sold as a large horn, then they need to check that its a large horn. Not happy about it.

Dogs love

My dogs love these Icelandic Lamb horns. They chew on them daily. I try to keep them on hand as they are so good for cleaning their teeth. They are a little spendier than many other long lasting dog chews but they are worth it. I've never found something equivalent in regards to my dogs loving them and chewing them daily. They go through them within 2-3 weeks because they chew on them so much but it's not because they are soft or easy to eat. It's just because my dogs love them so much and they chew on them a ton. They can be a little stinky but they are worth it. Way better than antlers or water buffalo horns.

Hard no

I know this product is about what dogs like, but since it was my $15, I get a say as well.I opened this product this morning when it arrived. I looked it over and snapped a photo to show my daughter who is also looking for a good natural chew product. The horn had a large chunk cut out of the large end and was somewhat thin and fragile feeling compared to other horns we’ve bought. I allowed my nine month old Australian Shepherd to chew on it while I prepared his breakfast and he loved it, however, he immediately began splintering it where the chunk was cut out. Concerned, I read over the description again and saw that it was “edible” so I let him have it until it was time to eat. This evening I let him have it again and he was enthusiastic, but I felt uneasy and kept a close eye on him. Then his Bassett Hound sister decided to have a go at it. She’s five years old. After she’d had it for about fifteen minutes, I noticed blood all over the end. I took it away and it was very splintered. The splinters were sharp and when I inspected my Bassett’s mouth her gums and the roof of her mouth were bleeding. I threw the thing away, much to both dog’s dismay. I later fished it out of the trash for photos. It was covered in dog hair from brushing my Aussie and putting his hair in the trash so I hosed it off so you could see it, that’s why it’s wet.Dogs give it a thumbs up…that is, if they had thumbs.Me, I wish I’d never bought it. In all, maybe an hour total chew time between the dogs and a possible visit to the vet if my Bassett’s mouth is too torn up. Aussie’s mouth appears fine.
