A great resource to have in the creative person’s library

Wonderful visual resource of textile designs, will be a great source of inspiration for surface design AND very pleased to see a section of fabric swatches for weaving inspiration as well! While the swatches have no detail regarding the number of harnesses used, there are some that seem to have been woven on 8 or fewer harnesses in addition to the jacquard weavings. Had originally purchased it as it contains images of some of Elin Noble's work but then also found Susan Johnson (Avalanche Looms), Marcia Weiss represented as well. Many new and exciting images of the work of people heretofor unknown to me. My copy already has multiple post-it markers. Well worth the purchase price.

I bought this because looking at textile patterns is very peaceful, something I like to do for a break at work. But this book is so much more than I expected. The section at the back with artist profiles especially. And links to artist pages beyond the book.March 15, 2017: one of the other reviewers posted pictures of pages in this book. I then bought the paperback version. The kindle layout is one picture at a time. The paperback layout has several pictures on a page, so there is more context an a completely different effect. I love both ways. This is a wonderful book and art experience!

I love this book. Whenever I need to get a pattern or color combination inspiration for my embroidery projects all I have to do is take a look.

So varied and well put together. Pleasant, uncommon and stimulating.

Well, I must admit, I have a few designs in the book.

I do very much like this book, but the artists seem to be all the same 10-15. There are loads of repeats of styles since the same artists are used. So while the patterns are fun to look through, it is a bit disappointing in the range of art styles. And for the price, I would expect more artists to have been included.

Love this book so much. Whether you're an artist, doodler or looking for embroidery inspiration like me, this book will have a pattern to meet your needs. It's laid out in handy sections from themes like florals to abstract design. It's a truly beautiful book.

Really loved the book. It's divided into various themes (floral, geometric, conversational etc.) and all the displayed patterns adequately reflect the tipical taste of both contemporary art and fashion. It's probably the only manual of its kind which focuses specifically on textile designs and definitely stands out for its sleek and beautifully arranged layout.

This book is packed full of bright interesting patterns it's a lovely resorse. The patterns are in different sections from geometric to abstract and the print quality is good. If you are looking for an ideas book it's well worth getting.
