This hammer is the exact weight and size needed to do simple heel and toe tap repairs on shoes and boots.

Just received this hammer and the handle is a bit loose but has curled wood below the head so it seems like they put the expansion screw in before fully inserting the handle. However for the price I don't expect high quality. Upon a better inspection the curled wood is a shim to help make it fit tighter I guess they should have added two.

I had to put a rubber band around it to secure it from moving. Cheap quality

The media could not be loaded. Handle was a little thin. So I added a leather wrap to make it a little thicker. Well balanced and works great to close the holes of my stitches. I've also used it on punches with no scares on the face.

Proven once again you get what you pay for. The hammer will do what I bought it to do but I will have to make some improvements. First off the face of the hammer has a gouge on one side so it's not completely smooth. Hammering leather with it the way it is will certainly leave marks. That will have to be ground out and smoothed down. The handle is loose and where the wedge is inserted is all cracked. The handle will need to be replaced. Once that is completed it should be a useful tool. And if not will have to buy the more expensive product I checked out and keep this for other work. Maybe finally learned my lesson to say away from cheap items shipping directly from China.

I didn't expect to have a floppy head on a brand-new hammer.I had to remove the handle, add epoxy and a new spreader to make it useable.
