Duncan Hines Mug Cake with Frosting, Brownie, 4 ct

Definitely worth the $2 and change I spent on this. First time trying boxed mug cake mix but really couldn’t beat the price at around 50 cents a serving. I was a bit worried reading the reviews first but went ahead anyway. So,it came with four packages of mix and four frostings, perfect. I DID use a 7oz ramekin because I saw some people say it was barely filling their mugs.. idk what size mugs people were using but this filled my ramekin perfectly and was the perfect amount for one person, in my opinion. Great little dessert to finish off dinner and no mess. Took me about 3 mins from start to finish to make and I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. It was very lemony with a great tang and the vanilla icing wasn’t too sweet for me at all and really complimented it. I’m very glad I tried them and plan to try all the flavors if priced right. Yummy.Update… also tried the strawberry shortcake and it was horrible! I rarely throw things away but this I could not eat.. it was so sweet, so so sweet and to me gross, that I couldn’t eat it. The lemon was really good but the strawberry was bad.

Duncan hines cake in a cup - delicious! 3 tablespoons of water or milk, stir, micro about 1 min. Easy. Healthy? Not so much - but if you're dying a taste of cake - works. Comes with frosting too - separate package - you can control the amount of frosting you drop on. Has been a blast for grandsons.

Easy to make for when you want something baked without going through 20 steps of baking. The flavor isn’t overwhelmingly amazing but it is definitely a cake and definitely easy to make. Frosting is a great addition, and overall product is great for its price. Came with no defects or damage!

I made it once, but next time I make it, I will definitely have to balance the very sweet sugary cake mix by making 1/4th of the mix with 3/4 of the mix substituted with un-bleached and unsweetened cake flour. Plus, I would used evaporated milk as my liquid to enhance the shortcake taste. Unfortunately, it’s way too sweet for me just as it is. Adding the sweet topping should make it absolutely perfect for me. Adding bits of dehydrated real strawberries will enhance the taste of actual strawberry with actual strawberries. Maybe my palate isn’t refined enough to tell that it’s strawberry shortcake just from the taste alone and not from what I read on the box. I really wouldn’t know that it’s strawberry shortcake just by taste alone. That’s my truth.

I love how easy these are to make and help when I am craving a 'homemade' dessert and I don't have to make a whole pan of brownies. The directions are straightforward and it always tastes delicious. Just need milk or water.

Purchased so I could send a “birthday box” to someone during the COVID lockdown. I’ve tried other flavors and liked them very well.However, the “frosting” is an crime against humanity. It tastes so gross I scrapped it off. Even my sugar zombie kids wouldn’t eat the frosting. I thought the cake didn’t need it anyway, but carrot cake pureist are better off putting 1 tbls of actual cream cheese on top of the cake when it come out of the microwave if they don’t want to put the actual effort into making real frosting.Otherwise it’s a great product!

Loved these little cakes. Lemon was my favorite. Sometimes I get a sweet tooth late at night and would go grab a packet out of the box. In 2 minute or less the cake would be ready to eat. It doesn't make a mess and not much to clean up afterwards.
