The Thermo Scientific Orion 9106BNWP economy series gel-filled combination pH electrode features a wick junction for use in aqueous samples, and an epoxy body for indoor or outdoor conditions. This electrode has a permanently gelled Ag/AgCl (silver/silver chloride) electrolyte that produces less noise (unwanted voltages) than gold or purely silver electrodes, and requires no refills. The electrode comes with a waterproof Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connection with a 1 m cable for reaching the sample, and a glass bulb. pH range is 0 to 14, temperature range is 0 to 80 degrees C, and body dimensions are 11 cm (4.31") length x 12 mm (0.43") diameter body, with 16 mm (0.62") diameter cap. Buffer and storage solutions are sold separately. pH electrodes are used in pH meters and testers to measure the or alkalinity of a substance. They are often constructed of glass, which senses hydrogen ions, and generates a millivoltage that is picked up by the filling solution and transferred to a wire that connects to the pH meter.
