Good size for travel but missing a lot of detail
This atlas is big enough to be easily readable but still small enough to take anywhere. Quite a few cities are highlighted but it seems that there are fewer than I remember. Travelling through NC and GA I found that a lot of roads were missing; I know its not going to be as detailed as a state-specific map, I was still surprised to see entire areas devoid of roads or detail. Made it difficult especially to get through the mountains of North Georgia and Western North Carolina. Maybe its our reliance on GPS systems, or maybe Rand McNally has gotten lazy on the mapping, but using a road atlas isn't like it used to be.

The size, about the size of a piece of standard typing paper.
Some folks felt the detail was too limited, however the size was more important to us. We carry it in our Jeep for reference when traveling. We ordered the larger Rand McNally atlas but it was too large to handle in the car. This one is just right. If you need more detail, this may not be for you. We use this in conjunction with our gps.

Complete Atlas to road trip the USA
I really like this collection of road maps. It arrived in perfect print condition. I knew it has never been opened, because some of the pages were still lightly bound together at the binding. I took care of that! I bought this for emergency travel in case I need to get to my loved ones and if the planes haven't figured out how to remove viruses from the air yet. I really want to vacation now! It's got great print size. I don't think I'll have any trouble trying to find my way. Every state has a zoomed-in page, but there are also good maps of the entire continental US. I didn't look for Hawaii and Alaska, but I think they're there too.

The size is perfect but all roads are not shown.

Great atlas and nice compact size, durable.
It’s an atlas, don’t know what else to say, others say it lacks some of the smaller roads, I was looking for major roads at a glance without scrolling an Ipad or phones screen to see the freeways, worked great for me and like that it is compact.

Even in the day of GPS
I know almost everyone has a GPS app on their smartphone, but phones break, get lost and go dead, and sometimes you need to look at a map to see where things are in relation to each other, or see where your trip is taking you. I keep this in my car and now I always have the map I need. The pages aren't big, but there is good detail on the maps and they cover the whole country. States like Pennsylvania, where I'm going in two weeks, are divided into east and west in seperate maps so you can find places easier. Love it.Kudos for Amazon- the first copy had some pages that were folded over and creased. I had a replacement in two days.

would recommend not buying as not enough detail
there were many smaller cities not shown in detail like the bigger edition. For example Little Rock AR not shown whereas the bigger book has the city map of little Rock

Maps aren't where you'd expect them
When I'm looking up a state, I'd expect to find it in alphabetical order. But that's not always the case. For example, if you are looking for Nevada, its not with other states starting with N. Instead it is in the Cs as its been put together with California. Likewise, Tennessee is in the Ks with Kentucky. It puts both Carolinas together on the same map, but then divides the states into 2 separate maps for east and west sides of the states. Its confusing to have to constantly flip back and forth between multiple pages for the same state when you're trying to travel or trying to teach your children how to read a map. I understand for some states it is necessary to split the maps because the state is so large (ie California or Texas), but for the most of the states that are split up, it is simply because of their choosing to join the state to an adjoining state.

Updated roads.
We always update our maps when travelling to the USA ,as we travel a lot when there. Have found the rand McNally books the best for clear direction and information.

No enough detail in the maps
I purchase this specifically for use in Canada as I already have the large scale Road Atlas for 2020 US. The map detail is poor making the book pretty much useless. The map of Newfoundland is nothing more than a small square box in the upper corner of a page. Garbage. Don't waste your money on this book.

It’s a map book. OK
It’s a map book, what can I say.Smaller than the full size book, but maps are readable.Sits on the dash or passenger seat, easy to grab and hold in one hand.Great for planning trips and tracking what the gps is doing.

Convenient ATLAS
Nice size to consult enroute on our many Corvette Road Tours across the country. Interior of Vette is less than generous, but this smaller size Atlas works great. Populations included.
