Great oil lamp
Reasonable price for a quality oil lamps, I have used both in doors and outdoors. If you don’t adjust the flame very high you save lamp oil and still have ample light to see and be seen for apx 6 to 9+ hours.

Needed a little TLC before I could get it going
Had a slight issue out of the box. I could only adjust the wick up and down maybe half an inch either direction. If this happens to you, just disassemble the lantern, glass and all, from the main chassis and gently turn the wick housing counter clockwise I'm order to get easier access. On both sides where the wick enters and where it raises with the knob, get a very thin knife and simply start bending the thin metal material around both entrance and exit slits, the manufacturer just made them a little too narrow for the wick to move properly. It will take maybe 5 minutes tops and it's an easy fix, albeit an annoying one.Other than the initial problem, the lantern itself is acceptable. However the part where the glass meets the chimney wasn't aligned properly on my particular piece, so each time I raised and lowered the glass, it wouldn't seat properly without nudging it back in place using very slight pressure. However compared to the first issue this one is almost negligible. Overall I think the materials used to make this product seem relatively durable and easy to maintain. I especially love how the handle is a fixed to the actual airflow chambers as opposed to them being looped around flimsy ears like the ones you buy at walmart. If you had one you'd probably know what I'm talking about. So all in all, out of the box I had to do a little tinkering to get it set up to my liking, however after that, the price/Quality ratio compared to a Deitz is second to none. I actually bought a Deitz lantern a little while back and had nothing but issues with it burning the wick instead of the oil. I still have it and am looking for a solution to the problem but I feel kind of cheated out of the 40 bucks I paid for it. Not so much with this one

Best described as a piece of Junk
leaked immediately up filling with oil. Poor workmanship. Light as a feather and basically falls apart when attempting to light. Spend the extra money and get a real lamp.

Budget lamp
You get what you pay for. The lamp does its job. The wick adjustment can be tough to turn sometimes but it does work. The lamp does contain the oil well, minimizing evaporation. It is worth the 14 dollars I paid for it, but they sell one very similar at Wal-mart for $8.

Very easy to dim the light
This is a good lantern, I used it in my tent when I went to the forest and it was nice quality

Great lantern at a great price.
I was skeptical to buy this because of all the reviews saying it leaked. But I figured it is cheap enough and gave it a shot. I purchased four of them and none of them leaks.

Well made oil lamp
These V&O oil lamps are well made. While the metal isn't as thick as a German made Dietz lamp, all of the functions work. Compare them to one of the Chinese lamps that Wal-Mart sells, and you'll see the difference.
