I have four of these and need to replace with the same however when I measure them they are 18"x 8" fully inflated, how can this be? Incorrect label?
are these tubeless tires or must i also buy tubes?
does this come on the rim already or just the tire itself with no rim?
Ply rating?

The company you order through

I cannot remember writing a review for anything, so this might be my first ever review, and it is not about the tire. The tire is fine, but what I want to express is my appreciation for the business acumen of Simple Tire.I messaged Simple Tire through Amazon informing them that only 1 tire was delivered of the 2 tires I ordered. Apparently, one of the tires was lost by FedEx, and Simple Tire shipped an additional tire to my home while awaiting for the claim to be processed.Five days after filing my claim, I received the additional tire. Simple Tire saved me weeks of waiting for the claim to be processed. Thank You.

Good for the price

Arrived with no issues. Popped it on my mower and away I went. Would buy again. Some people had issues of the tire being banded while shipped & had issues getting it to go back to it's ogrinal shape to seat on the rim. I did not have this issue and the tire came just as shown in the picture (also only bought one tire)

Appreciate getting a 4ply version

Just what I needed for my 7ft tractor mount finishing mower. Came across too many cheaper versions that were only rated 2 ply. While I've used the 2 ply in past, they just don't hold up well for a more demanding mower use. Plus their weaker design has had me re-inflating them a few times when they got over compressed in use and "blowing out".Many folks complain about mounting these; but one of the most important aspects is to warm the new tire up before trying to mount it. I let two of these sit out in strong sunlight to the point they were almost too hot to handle with bare hands and then it took me only about 3 minutes to get each one installed. Sure it may take a try or two to get everything situated just right; but once you have things in place the tire goes on pretty quick. BTW, if you don't have a couple of tire spoons I'd recommend getting them. I've done car, truck and motorcycle tires over the years and biggest gripe with lawnmower tires is the small size and holding them. Patience and recognizing what you are doing wrong will get you through the task.

Nice tires. Will work with a tube as well. Tricky install, see below.

These are quite difficult to install by hand but it can be done. Go to Harbor Freight and get the 24 in. tire tool for $5.00. A LONG LEVER WITH A CURVED END IS ESSENTIAL.Then watch you tube videos on how to do this. Watch about 10 of them till you find the right one that explains which side to start on. IT IS NOT the same process if you start on the inside or outside bead. One is method is impossible and one is VERY DIFFICULT but successful with patience. You want to start on the bead that is closest to the narrowest part of the wheel. THE TRICK IS when you break that bead, you can press it to the inside of the narrowest part of the wheel (groove kind of) and that will give you the slack you need to get it off the outside on the other side (180 across). IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP EVERYTHING SLIPPERY ENOUGH SLIP OVER THE METAL. But if everything gets slippery, you have no grip. Recommend rubber (nitrile) gloves which will probably shred, and Simple Green. SG will be slippery when wet but dry up quickly enough to grip the rest of the tire when you need to. Something like silicone will lube the whole unit and you'll look like a monkey F***kng a coconut the rest of the process. Once you get one bead popped out all the way around, the other goes into the groove (narrow part of wheel) and comes off same side. Some screwdrivers, wedges or small prybars are useful for preserving your progress as you work around. There's sort of a "start" process when you're trying to lift bead off, then a "middle" process when you are trying to hold your progress and work radially around, and then an end progress when you've got about 270 degrees done and are trying to "pop" the rest. You don't need to buy the HFreight tire changing machine, but that's a last resort. A vertical pole sticking out of the ground that is stable that you can put through the hub of the tire is VERY helpful for levering against radially. You can do it. Use a lot of patience, think very mechanically about how materials behave. Bake the tire in the sun or an oven at about 120 to make it softer. Then approach logically and slowly, each time you lose ground or fail, figure out what went wrong and adjust. I like the resulting ride and look and traction of the tires, they look like quality. I installed tubes (that only SLIGHTLY complicates the reinstall process) but I'm glad I did cuz I'd never want to do this job again for a slow leak. It's an old Snapper Rear engine and I had no confidence the metal bead wasn't corroded.Note, I did this alone. With two people and four hands, it might have been a much more slick process. I think it took me 1.5 hours per wheel to remove, install, insert tube and inflate, so a 3 hour job for a pair. That's working alone. But a very good result.

OEM for 1986 Wheel horse 315-8

This is an exact replacement for the original tire that came on the tractor. The smaller tires can be really difficult to remove and install manually. I recommend buying the Harbor Freight Mini tire changer for under $50 or similar product from Amazon.Your local tire store will sell you this tire for $60 vs ~$30 on amazon plus $5-$10 to mount them. With tire savings on amazon, over the cost of all 4'tires it more than pays for the cost of a tire changer. In short , the price for the tire on Amazon is half the cost of the same Carlisle tire that lasted 17 years from big box farm store and with the right tools they are not that hard to install.YouTube for the using a tire changer makes it easy

It takes a bit of strength to put on the rim

Good quality, takes some strength to put on the rim, but after that, it was easy to inflate.

Excellent fit on my Cub Cadet RZT SX 50

This tire is a prefect mate to my (still good) original tire.I hope that the rubber lasts longer than the original; the machine is stored inside, away from UV light but one of the original tires developed a severe crack. So far the new tire has lasted a season (as I would hope) and I look forward to many more.
