Winco FBR-9 Steel Round Wire Fry Basket, 9-Inch

I liked that this basket feels like it will last forever! It's heavier than I expected it to be. I bought for use inside my 7qt. Staub Cocotte. As you can see it fits perfectly with about 1/2" of space around the basket while inside the pot. I have not used it yet and have not washed it. If anything changes, I'll update my review.

I LOVE this basket ... it fits perfectly in my Lodge enameled cast iron pot. I needed to cook in intervals because my chicken pieces were quite large so I just made sure the oil temp was correct temperature for the next batch. Finally, my batter stayed on the chicken! I highly recommend it.

Looks and feels strong. Great value.

Great product, only problem is it’s a little heavy for my hand and could use a holder for the side of the fryer

I was very impressed when i took it out of the box. It is very well made. Of course, you MUST use a heat resistant glove to hold the handle as i'm sure it will heat up, making it too hot to touch...But, i can't wait to use it...LOVE IT

i have had a need for a long time for a basket to deep fry tempura and other things but for some reason was never able to find one when i sw this on Amazon i ordered ad am happy to say it is what i have been looking forit is a good heavy gauge steel that does the job well it is intended for

So here' what happens when you're deep frying- You get the oil up to the desired temperature, and then you immerse the food you're frying into the hot oil. If you add too much cold food into the oil at one time, the temperature of the oil will drop enough where your food won't come out "crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside". Rather, it will absorb more of the oil and come out like french fries that you can bend in half without breaking.So, unless you're dropping this into 5 gallons of hot oil, or you're only placing one piece of chicken in it at a time, either go with a smaller basket or just go to your local fast food joint and let them do their thing.

Frying

I used the fryer basket outdoors for French frying fries for a crowd. It worked out beautifully. The basket was strong so working with very hot oil felt safe to do so

perfect size to fry chips for the chippy. lightweight and good grip handle.

Been using it in a pot has a secondary deep fryer, it has been great
