2 Tubes PENTEL Super Hi-Polymer Lead 0.7 mm RED

This is great quantity for the money but it does break with any pressure - though it could be my handwriting. But the color is great.

Experience tells me that lesser/cheaper brands are not worth the money in the long run. I always recommend PENTEL for any mechanical pencil needs…

The lead isn’t very dark. I was really disappointed that it doesn’t leave a nice dark red line.

Lead breaks easily (which is not a surprise). The biggest issue (and others have mentioned it) is that it just isn't dark enough. You have to use pressure to make it legible and when you do, the lead will break. I won't order this again.

Get’s the job done. If you wear a uniform and need a red pencil for forms, this lead does what you need

I got it mostly to underline passages in books and magazines. In books, it's almost servicable. In one magazine I tried, whose pages are like newsprint, it was very very faint. And writing on any kind of paper is very faint.I have been using red pens for underlining - generally speaking it is dark enough, and if I accidentally line thru part of a word(s), it doesn't make the word(s) hard to read (unlike blue pen for example). So I've been happy with red pens until I ran out, and ordered some which turned out to be kind of faint (but not as faint as the red lead).And like all pens, when I'm in bed on my back reading, the pen is at a near horizontal angle that results in frequently ink stopping and so I have to restart the ink. That's why I tried a pencil solution, since it doesn't have the frequent stopping and needing restarting.BTW, regular old fashioned wooden red pencils work just fine, but I don't like all the sharpening.

Love the red lead, but it's HB and not soft enough when marking up drawings. I'd love it if it was a B hardness, but given I haven't found them yet, this has to suffice.
