Nice! Roomy, Neslon-Rigg quality
I mounted these bags on a 2012 Triumph Tiger 800, strapped to SW-Motech hardware. They are plenty big. The instructions that came with the bags were not for these bags, but one call to Nelson-Rigg clarified on how to properly install the inner liners. They apologized, saying they were aware of the problem and were in the process of rewriting the instruction with new pics. (The small liner goes on the bottom of the bag. The large one slides through the inner loop on top and drape down on both sides. It takes a little patience and finesse to tuck the long ends inside the inner cuffs). I really like the idea that there is a "lifetime" warranty. They appear to be manufactured well. They are lightweight, yet sturdy. The cross straps have plenty of room for adjustment and fit nicely under the rear pillion seat. I'm sure they would fit under the seat of most motorcycles as well. The openings on these are from the side, not the top; so far, so good. The price was right, fast shipping and would buy from this seller again.

Stiff But Not Sag-Proof
Realizing that these are fabric bags with only thin flexible plastic panels for structural stiffening, I made a pair of light metal frames to keep them from flopping around and possibly rubbing on the wheel. Anyone buying these bags should plan on improvising some sort of side supports for them, or better yet getting some premade luggage racks. That said, these bags are handsome, well built, and have a lot of storage capacity. My wife already had a really nice Nelson Riggs seat bags on her adventure bikes which she loves. These side bags match it both functionally and aesthetically. I shopped hard before I bought them. For this price they just can't be beat.

Great seller, good product
They were missing a part when I received them, but I just fired off a single message to the seller and a week later the part showed up at my door. No hassle, no back and forth.Fantastic customer service. As for the bags, they are a great deal for the price: nice and big, hold their shape well, decently water-resistant, lots of mounting options. My only big complaint, and I suspect most (possibly all) soft bags like this have the same issue, is that they scuffed the hell out of some of the bodywork that they were resting on.I made sure they were tight to the body and secured across multiple points. Also at one point in my trip they shifted slightly and the heat shield touched (and melted to) my exhaust.Again, that's not really the fault of the bags, but it's worth keeping in mind. But they did a great job. Definitely a viable alternative to hard cases, although not as good in the long run.

Nelson Rigg CL-855 saddlebag issues
I purchased these bags in May 2014 from Amazon, and had them less than one week when a tie cord for the mesh pocket came loose. I submitted a warranty claim, and Nelson Rigg sent me new bags. Big plus for their customer service. I had a seam on the zipper come loose on one side about 2 weeks ago, and start to pull on the other side, so I submitted another warranty claim. They sent me one new right side bag along with the left one I returned, plus reinforced the seams at the attach points, but now the cross over straps are at least 4 inches shorter than the bags I originally returned. I have them mounted on a 2006 Suzuki DL1000 Vstrom with older SW Motech racks, and the bags were fine until this last warranty claim for the zipper seam. It appears that somewhere in the process these bags were mislabeled or built for a smaller bike or something, I cannot figure it out. Quality has been OK, (as I am finding out now), but not as tough as my previous GIVI soft luggage I sold with my older bike back in March 2014. I hope to have this issue resolved soon, but I am not completely satisfied with their quality of this product. This is the first time I have used a Nelson Rigg product. Customer service has treated me fairly, but the product should have been built to withstand the rigors of being on a motorcycle and used a lot, in my opinion.

A great luggage solution for temporary use.
These bags are an update to the previous version I have, and use for occasional longer trips. So when my wife decided she wanted some additional luggage capacity too, there was no question of what we'd get.Fitting and removal of these bags could hardly be simpler, the lower snap-in coupler only need to be set and adjusted once. After that, you can leave one side on the bike permanently (which I do on mime) so I just throw the bags over (or under, as the mood takes me) the rear seat, adjust the velcro cross straps to get the height I want, and snap-in the lower coupling(s).(there's one on the older set of CL-850's I have, and two on these CL-855's for my wife's).On my wife's I remove everything when not in use, so I do the same, but have to fasten both ends of the snap-in couplers, which loop around (in my case on our AN650's) the side reflector bracket. On most bikes, probably the rear footpegs. So around 2-3 minutes to fit or remove. The backing pads on these bags are very good for protecting the paint (assuming you keep them clean), and when on, the bags don't bounce about, or create noise.Easy to load, easy to fit/remove, they come with weather resistant covers, good load capacity. There when you need them, not when you don't. What's not to like?

It's okay if you need a soft bag. You ...
It's okay if you need a soft bag. You definitely need a system to keep these out of the wheels. The metalic buttons on mine started rusting within a few weeks. I also live right next to the ocean, so might be okay for someone who lives somewhere less saline.

Good bags for the money
I just returned from a 2000 mile round trip from central California to Utah with these bags. I had no problems with the bags, they held everything I needed for a multi day trip. I did not run into any rain so I can not comment on how water resistance they are, but they do not claim to be water proof. I don't think the rain covers they provided would stay on very well by the looks of them, but I had the contents of the bags in plastic trash bags for protection if it rained. All in All I am happy with the purchase. I ride a Triumph 800 Tiger with side racks.

Great Product
Very well constructed and lots of room for most anything I need to carry. Certainly not as big as some of the hard panniers but a great for my daily commute to work (groceries etc on the way home) as well as heading into the trails with my camping gear and supplies. I like the very sturdy velcro height adjustability straps which keeps them from sagging. I have used these for three years (14,000 kms) and no signs of any failures. The bags are not completely water proof but for light rain, I only found a small amount of moisture inside. Rain covers work great and when used, seem to keep out almost all normal weather. I have never had to use in extreme type weather.

The bags look and fit great on my vstrom. My order was missing one protective back plate that velcro's on but amazon was great and discounted my purchase.
