Prepac Altus Wall Mounted Media Console, Espresso

This wall mounted media shelf fit the bill for what I was looking for. It's a solid piece, though very easy to assemble. No missing pieces, and no damaged parts. The box was very heavy though, so be aware of that before you try picking it up yourself.Installation on the wall was a breeze. You mount the support board on the wall with the studs, though you need your own screws for that. Thankfully I had ones that worked. Then you just slip the unit onto the slotted board, and bingo!The wires are hidden very nicely. The spot behind and and the bottom of the unit to hide wires is perfect. I was able to hide my Xbox power brick on one side, and a surge protector on the other side. The bottom shelf is pretty shallow as a result of that hidden compartment behind, hence the reason why only DVD's are shown on that shelf in the pictures.My favorite part of this piece was the fact it came with a detail marker! I had accidentally scratched one of the shelves during installation, but the detail marker completely hid the scratch with a perfect match of color. Just be sure you follow the direction of the scratch, and then wipe the excess when done.My only gripe, though a minor one, is how dirty the pieces were as I was taking them out of the box. I understand a little bit of dust and wood chips, but this was far more than that. I think it took me longer to wipe down the pieces with a rag than it did to assemble the unit.Minor gripe aside, I would highly recommend this unit, and I will be buying a second one for my loft TV.

I think this shelf is awesome. In fact, I stood in awe looking at it when I finally got it up on my wall. Assembly was pretty simple and it actually took less time than I expected. I ran into one obstacle which caused me to have to go back three steps and start over. The piece on the back of the shelf that hooks into the wall had been put on backwards only because I was looking at the picture and not thinking. I was looking at where the cams were placed instead of just thinking about how the shelf was hung. Regardless, it was painless. I am not handy and had the shelf assembled in less than thirty minutes and on the wall in less than an hour. As everyone has mentioned, there are no screws to attach this to the wall or mounting hardware. I used wood deck screws 8x2. I used six screws, attaching three in two separate studs. The instructions suggest hitting three studs but that wasn't possible with the way I had it situated on my wall. It still feels solidly hung to my wall. The shelf has one downfall in that the wood (or particle board) is not colored on both sides. I hung my shelf about 30 inches of the floor and can see the undersides of the shelf which is annoying to me since it is just particleboard colored. Regardless this is an awesome self. Looks good, easy to assemble, easy to hang, and worth the money.

very nice, solid construction. instructions were easy to follow. took me about 20mins to assemble and anotjer 15 or so to mount. this stand is quite heavy. i recommend having a freind help lift it in place. stand is wide enough to mount to 3 wall studs(16" oc) do that if you have the option. unfortunately my tv had to be mounted in such a way i could only secure the stand to 2 studs. it is still solid, but i would have preferred to use 3. as others have stated, the mounting board does not come predrilled as each install is a bit different. take the time and do it right by predrilling some pilot holes before mounting.my favorite feature is the hidden compartment for cords. makes for a very clean install. the shelves for av equipment are nice and deep. i had no trouble fitting a bluray player, directv box, nitendo wii, and yes even a vcr. for thise wondering, the storage area is big enough for dvd cases as well as vhs tapes.we mounted our stand pretty high on the wall even though the instructions recommend hanging it low. the very bottom of the stand is not finished with the espresso look. since we have 3 kids in the house who get into everything, we mounted the bottom of the stand around 36" off the floor. this keeps the kids out, and gave us extra space to store toys below. overall awesome product!

Put together fairly easily (coloured directions or a better indication of what side of the board to use would have been better), but still put together within the hour. Quality is heavy and no marks or scratches on the materials. Came well packed for shipment. MOunted easily and hides cords well. Fit under a 55" TV very nicely.We also purchased the matching book cases and it all goes together very nicely.

This wall unit is perfect for what I needed. It was a bit of a pain to mount on my wall, you need two people as it said, finding the studs and centering it was the problem and making sure the wall plugs were lined up with the opening at the bottom, but once it was up it is great. I have a 50" TV on it but it is very lightweight, less than 50lbs. so it works fine. Only sour point is it went on sale after I bought it and Amazon's policy is 7 days. I was over that limit...bummer.

Love it! I'll soon be hiding that lone cable line and the setup will be clean and wire free! Easy assembly. Love that it's BC made in Delta!Bottom section perfect for CD or bluray storage. None of which we deal with but wife will find something pretty to put in there.Excellent cable management in the back to hide everything. Top middle section deep enough for ps4 and cable boxes.Will definitely buy again for the man cave.

Great design... easy to follow instructions... slightly heavier than I expected but works quite well in my living room...

This unit looks great, easy to assemble and once mounted it looks more expensive than it is. Although it says not to place the TV directly on the unit, today's TV are light enough that it should not be a problem. Mounting system is easy to do, it uses a type of French cleat which makes it easy to mount level.
