Timex Mid-Size Ironman Sleek 50 Classic Watch

I've been wearing this watch (or at least, this model) since 2002. So it's been officially over 10 years of wearing this watch. It was my first running watch when I started cross country in high school. About a year ago, I bought a Garmin (which I also love), but I only switch to the Garmin when I'm actually running and want to know the distance. The rest of my life, I wear this watch (including in the shower). My very first version was the pink T5D601 which is only very very slightly different in look. I like this slightly different one with the chrome around the outside of the face because it looks nicer with my white-gold wedding bands.Alarms: I love the 3 alarms. It's not loud enough if your arm is under the cover when you are sleeping, but plenty loud if you take it off and put it on your night stand. I have used it before for a wake-up alarm, but now I just use my phone so I don't have to take it off. I use two of the alarms to remind me to take pills and another to let me know it's almost time to leave work."T1 and T2": The watch can have two different times set on it. This is really useful if you frequently talk to someone in another time zone and want to just check really quick to see what time it is there. All you have to do is press down the "start" button to see the other time. I used it all the time when my husband was in Afghanistan and he was 10.5 hours off from me.Swimming: I have used this watch in triathlons and done laps in the pool in this watch and have never had an issue. I saw some other people had.. If you are worried, my advice would be to keep the warranty papers and if it breaks, you can just send it in to Timex and get a new one if it's been less than a year.Timers: You have timers and a stopwatch. If I'm timing myself on the track, this watch is much easier than my Garmin is when it comes to hitting the lap button and then reviewing them afterward. Really easy and simple to use. If you run a PR, you can even save it in the watch if you want.Size: It's really small, lightweight, and sleek. I have a tiny wrist, so I love it.Durability: The band is going to fail on you eventually. Mine have lasted anywhere from about a year to a year and a half. I also noticed that when I owned the light pink one, it did get discolored within the year. So be careful if you get a lighter color. So no, it's not going to last you forever. But do you really want it to? By the time I get to a year, I'm ready to try a new color. And pretty much all the colors are less than $50 now. I've owned a pink one, 2 plum ones, a flowery gray one.. and possibly 1 or 2 more that I can't remember. Like I said, they last about a year to a year and a half.Look: Even when I'm at work, my everyday style is still slightly athletic. If you dress a lot nicer, this watch might not be great for your everyday look. If I'm going to a more formal event (like a wedding) I might ditch it for the day.Overall: Love this watch. I can't imagine wearing anything else.

I find the ironman watches to be attractive, lightweight, comfortable, durable, affordable, functional and very easy to set since they will go through many daylight savings months. I have now purchased 5 ironman watches. I am a woman in my 50s, and I most like that the time, day and date are so easy to read and the indiglo light makes them useful even at night. (Although, I do prefer the older indiglo light model where the entire watch face lights up over the new style that this watch has where it lights up just the numbers because the newer type is a little more difficult to read). This is a great casual watch, as well as appropriate for a professional work place. I bought my original ironman watch many years ago due to its time and date readability, and have continued with them for that and the other reasons listed. They last for many years, and I buy new ones when the watch band begins to crack on the underside. Otherwise, they have not broken, or worn much on the outside of the watch. I highly recommend the brand, and will continue to purchase these.

I am very pleased with this watch. It is a style I love and I have several of these in different colors for work. It is comfortable and low profile on my wrist. The band is an open style, so I don't sweat underneath it. In my work I frequently need to be able to see the time and date clearly at a glance and this watch is perfect for that. It has a small band that holds the end of the watch band securely. It is well made. I have had one of these for several years and it's still going strong. I wash my hands many times a day and I don't have to worry about this getting wet. It is very easy to set and use. The Indiglo night feature comes in very handy. It has loads of features that are detailed in the original product description. The color is great and goes nicely with my denim shirts. Also, the price was amazing! I have paid $20 more for these in other places.

I really like this watch. I use the app feature for nursing to time intervals between feedings. I just ordered my fourth watch and I give it four stars due to the fact that they ALL have lasted just shy of a year each and all break in the same place. See the picture. On one the indiglo feature burned out at ten months and on one the mini band to keep the end down broke. Lucky for me I had my old watches and could use that piece from a different watch. I've also had condensation inside the screen for one. I used to use this watch for lap swimming and it worked great for that. No more swimming for me unfortunately. I do love the waterproof feature. So nice for giving The kids baths not to have to worry about taking it off, or for my shower. I wear mine all the time. Night and day, so if you never take yours off- your watch won't last for years like several reviews here I am seeing. But for the cost, a year isn't a bad output so I am pretty satisfied.

This is a reasonably priced watch that has many great features. It has a lap timer, count down timer and is water proof so it can be worn when swimming. It is also a bit smaller than watches with the same capability which I like because my wrist is small. I can wear the watch with all but very dressy clothing. The band is soft and the slider has a hole that catches the extra flap when it is fastened. I really like the light, as other reviews have indicated the numbers light up rather than the background (as with most watches). It is easy to see and works very well. One feature that I do miss from my old Casio watch is a countdown timer controlled by one button on the side of the watch. You can quickly time 1,3,5 and 10 minutes by simply pressing a button. This watch does have a countdown timer that you set and then start. The time you set is repeated which is a nice feature for exercise repetitions. Overall I strongly recommend this watch, it is worked great for me

My (Ironman) mom and I have been using these watches for decades. They are a nice size for our small wrists, attractive, have the indiglo light, chrono, waterproof, and lots of other features including, most importantly for us, the interval timer function that most cheaper sports watches lack. The only problem for us is that when the plastic strap breaks, it can't be replaced so instead we have to replace the whole watch. So this watch was a replacement for that reason and I LOVED that it arrived so fast (ordered it Dec 21 and it arrived in time for Christmas!).

I have bought an new Timex Ironman each time mine has broken for about 20 years. They are comfortable, have great features, are easy to use, last well, look good, small on a woman's wrist and easy to read. Highly recommend.

Nice watch and good value. I've had one before and it does the job - times runs, interval training and circuit reps plus three alarms. The watch came away from the strap last time and can't be mended so moved to 'tap technology' model last time at double the price but that strap snapped after 2 years. Happy to go back to this one and hoping it lasts, in use daily but taking it off for swimming this time to help glue to hold - although in theory that shouldn't be a problem as triathlon branding. Colour and styling great and attractive enough to wear all the time not just for sport.
