A great book for the boys just starting to read as well as a train lover.He told me a lot about different kinds of trains as he read.

Great book for kids that like train.

My 6 year old loves trains! This is a great book for him! As he has just finished Kindergarten, he is able to read this to us with some help. He loves the information and the pictures. It is a great reader for K-2 graders.

My son has a permanent brain injury due to an accident 21 yrs ago. He is 39 yrs old now. I needed to find books with large print plus not too many sentences at a time so he can focus when he is trying to read. The author of these books and I have purchased several now is able to keep the interest of what he reading, also they are educational. These books can also help children become interested in reading as well.

This gives a nice history of trains and the tracks. There is a good exploration of different types of trains and their uses. Good pictures. Nice book for a budding train enthusiast.

Mind you, I have a 4 year old who is practically obsessed by trains. He lives, eats, sleeps trains. (Literally, he sleeps on Thomas sheets in Chuggington pajamas, clasping his favorite train whistle or train character, with random pieces of track within his covers.) So when this book arrived, I was a little dismayed it contained so much in depth writing about trains. But my son has soaked it all up. We read a few pages at a time, discuss the pictures, and compare to what we already know, only to dive again into the next few pages.If you have a young railfan like me, your child will love it. If you have an older, able reader, the information is great. And if you just want a good nonfiction book for your library, the readability is awesome. Get it -- you won't be disappointed!

Perfect for my son who loves trains!

I love these series. But most important that my son does. I got 40+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.
