This book contains very pretty designs and you catch on quite quickly to the process. Did my first cut out and loved how it came out. Would recommend using a scalpel instead of a traditional craft knife as it is thin and flat. Round barrel knives cause hand fatigue. Great product. Would recommend if you are looking for a new hobby.

I ordered this book, a self-healing cutting board and a simple exacto knife set, with many replacement tips (all from Amazon) and voila! I have a new hobby. This book is perfect in many ways: the paper is a card-stock and hold up very well to the cutting and turning you will be doing; it has a practice page where you can refine your fine-motor skills in making straight and curved cuts; there are "Beginner", "Intermediate" and "Advanced" patterns ... check out the rooster and dream catcher pattern! (each patterns has several copies so there is no need to worry about messing up OR you can see how your skill has progressed). You will also need the extra copies too as I have found that when you start showing off, you friends and family will exclaim "YOU made THAT?" and you will be obliged to make their desired pattern too. There are also Youtube companion videos too. I plan on working my way through the whole book series. The only thing lacking is indepth instruction on say, how to make your corners look sharp. This and more can be found on multiple Youtube videos on the subject (stab and drag!).

I just looked through the book and I love how it starts with easier projects. I'm looking forward to doing the projects.

Nice patterns but hard to see. I know that they were made that way to hide the libes, but my old eyes can’t handle it.
