42” Bar Height Table Review
I purchased this bar height table for my basement kitchen. The kitchen is small, therefore, I needed something that would accommodate the space and leave room for walking. Two people can sit comfortably and enjoy a full meal. I have to say, this product exceeded my expectations. It’s sturdy, has plenty of space on table to fit two 12x18” placemats, and looks great. Am very pleased with this 42” bar height table and would definitely recommend purchasing.

Good Value, Sturdy Table
This is a great value on a good looking, simple but sturdy pub table. Fits perfectly with my existing barstools. Straightforward assembly. I would 100% purchase again.

Solid piece of furniture
I like this table a lot as it fits perfectly in the small space I had available. It is solid, sturdy and looks great. An added bonus for me was that I already had the perfect barstool for it. Very happy.

Awesome in every way!
So it is comically tall, so be sure to get barstools that match this towering giant. I’m pretty tall myself though, so it’s refreshing to not bash my kneecaps on the underside of the table when I have my legs crossed and feet up on the chair‘s rails.Incredibly sturdy - even the packaging was sturdy. All of the parts were expertly Tetris-ed into the two separate boxes with zero wiggle room for damage during transporting. The easiest piece of furniture I’ve ever assembled. They were even thoughtful enough to pre-place the washers on each bolt in the correct order. Didn’t even have to glance at the instructions. I can imagine that some smaller folks might have a little bit of trouble flipping it upright once it’s assembled, due to the weight and height, but that’s the only potential issue I can see anyone having with this.Just a quick note: Any visible “distressing” is really mild. Unless you look super closely, it just seems solid black. I do appreciate the subtlety of the prepared damage - I like that it does look new, and not like I’ve already wrecked it.

Looks amazing!
Perfectly packaged, easy easy to assemble and it looks beautiful. Not really distressed which I’m happy about. Love the clean lines and the rich black finish. You cannot go wrong with this table.

Badly Engineered, Poor Quality Control
I purchased two of these chairs, and both had problems. Each chair, as expected, must be assembled. The instructions were inadequate and it took some time to figure out which bolt went where (why do all three sizes of bolts have practically the same name?). The first chair was mis-drilled. The holes on the back legs into which the rung dowels were to go had been drilled two inches too high. I would have sent the chair back, except I was pressed for time to have some functional bar stools. So I re-drilled the holes (that's a 3/8-inch drill bit, for those of you who may come across the same problem) and filled the original holes with ebony-colored wood filler. After assembly, one back leg was visibly 1/4-inch shorter than the others and the chair wobbled. This was not a result of my retro-fitting the hole on that leg: my measuring tape showed that, sure enough, that leg was actually shorter than the others. I had to shim the leg with a footing to keep it from wobbling. After assembly, oddly, I noticed that there were three extra bolts and a couple of extra wood screws. Not complaining about that last part, but it does seem like a quality oversight. I went over the instructions and examined the chair again and there is no indication that I left anything out.The second chair was not quite as bad, except that the wood screws were entirely missing from the package. I had to go to the hardware store and get replacements (1" #6 flat-head wood screws, for those of you who may come across the same problem). Again, there were two extra bolts at the end.As far as comfort is concerned, the seats are a bit too hard and the backs are a bit too vertical to be particularly comfortable. Conclusion: That's two strikes on this Home Styles brand chair and I advise all to avoid it. There are too many other options available and you shouldn't waste your time and money on this one.
