Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Case (2019) - Matte Black

I have bought the Spigen Rugged Armor case for the last 3 phones I have owned. The reason for that is because it is a great case. I am a huge fan of the black minimalistic look while still looking sleek at the same time. This case is great for a Samsung phones because it doesn't cover up the curved edges on the sides of the phone but still protrudes over the top and bottom of the phone so that the screen of the phone is not touching the ground when it is facing screen down. I have used a pop socket on all three phones that I bought this case for and I have never once had issues with the pop socket falling off. The material on the back is great for the adhesive on the pop socket and it will still stay on sturdy even after being attached to it for more than a whole year. As for protection this case has held up extremely well. I don't keep a screen protector on my phone which puts me at risk for shattering the screen, but since the case protects the phone from hitting the ground on the screen I have never had an issue with shattering the phone screen (and believe me I have put my phones through their fair share of drops). In my opinion, this case is the perfect balance between protection and size of the case. The case is not bulky at all which I love and it still makes my phone look sleek and thin. Despite being so thin it still has great shock absorption especially from corner drops. All in all, this phone case is just one of those products that is exactly what I want in a phone case and I'm sure I will continue to get the same case for my future phones as well.

This is my second Rugged Armor case. The previous one was bought for my Galaxy S7 edge, three years ago. At that time, I only gave the case four stars. This time around I can happily up that to five stars as there have been improvements to an already great case.First, there is some texture on the edges now which give a little more grip when holding the phone. Second, the lip around the camera opening is now flush to the back of the case, so the case sits flat when laid on the back. Third, the "graphite" cutouts have been reduced in size which makes them blend in better with the overall design.Some things are still the same (and great) as before. The lips on the edge are stiff enough that they stay in place on the curved edge screen. I tried several other cases on the S7 edge that would pull away from the phone. The Rugged Armor has never had that issue. The openings are all centered on the ports they surround. I've seen some cases where the openings were off center to the point where cable connectors could bind, not so here. Finally, the overall look is minimalist without looking cheap. This case could pass as part of the phone and blends in so well that you don't even notice it.My Samsung Galaxy S10+ is going to be very happy in this case. Unlike last time, I won't have go to through six different cases before finding the perfect one for me.

This case has saved my bacon on more than one occasion where my clumsy hands have dropped the phone on the floor, face down. Without the case it would have been game over, the first time. This has led to nary a scratch because of that lip that it provides around the screen. It also is designed to protect the glass over the rear camera and seems to have done that rather well as they are still unscratched all these years later despite the phone riding in my pocket with lint and such. Highly recommend and when I finally do upgrade from this S10+, I'll be sure to get a phone that I can get a Spigen case for so I can keep it protected.

Overall, this case is once again great. I've purchased it for the S7+, S9+, and now the S10+ and I think am coming up on 4 years or so with this type of case.New Changes to the S10 case:Patterned/textured along the sides of the case. Feels very nice I'd say.A very subtle textured back of the caseNO LONGER holds a pop socket without some extra help (with super glue)You can take a look through the pictures and try to pick up the changes, I hope the photos turned out decent enough for that. But my main gripe was that my pop socket kept falling off. I have since super glued it onto case and it has held on which is nice. But it just sucks that there was that design change in my opinion for no reason.Either way, great case and I got the pop socket on regardless!Update: September 27, 2019, Pop Socket has held firmly with super glue. Case still works great!Update: May 19, 2020, I do notice that if I "shake" my phone, I can hear it slide around in the case a bit. This is very minimal and this phone has still withstood many drops on the ground and has never come out of the case on its own!

I tried four cases for my new S10+. This one did not even compare to the rest. The button coverings are very smart. They make it easy to distinguish keys. I love how the bixby button is covered with jagged edges so you never accidentally press it. I found with every single other case and even using the phone by itself I always pressed the button by mistake. I don't use the kick stand. But I didn't find it to get in the way. I never even know it is there. I've never dropped the phone. But the case seems very sturdy and strong. I love the notches at the bottom over the usb C port. It has an open cut which you can rest your finger in when texting which assists you in gripping and not dropping your phone. The other cases didn't have this. This case is sticky. It has a sticky sturdy grip. The other cases were very soft and rubbery and I would never be comfortable holding this one thousand dollar phone in them. I would surely drop them. But again, I've never dropped this. I highly recommend.
