Broan-NuTone LA130WH Doorbell, High Gloss White Wood

I needed to replace an old doorbell as the piston was physically stuck, so there was no chime when the doorbell button was pressed. I liked this because of the wooden box versus the standard plastic enclosure. I hooked this up along with a new Arlo door and it works well.

This product appeared to have been cracked during production. Someone else showed one cracked the exact same way. Also, it’s not very loud. But I had a NuTone doorbell that was installed about 1950 and this base matched up exactly. So installation was a breeze and the chime took up the same footprint as the old one (but without the 3 hanging tubes).

As a replacement, this doorbell looks great and is loud enough for our home. It is slightly larger than the old one which aided installation. Recommended if you want a basic ‘ding dong’ ring.

the actual casing is cracked on the left side.... its made of wood surprisingly and one of the plastic tabs that hold the metal rod that creates the chimes was cracked.... luckily i was able to repair it all simply to avoid time and cost of sending it back.

This was easy to install! Just take photos of your previous chimebox and duplicate it!We installed a Nest Hello doorbell decided to upgrade our old chimebox. I was so happy to find their was plenty of room to hide the nest chime inside and the cover easily popped back into place to cover the chimebox

Is it easy to install? Yes. It, however, is not designed with enough room in the body to easily store the bundle of wires and wire nuts that needs to fit in there. Also, my cover came broken. Lastly, the design of the strikers being mounted vertically with the bell plates above and below it doesn’t work well. The retention springs don’t allow for proper movement as gravity is stronger than the setup. My old bell had the striker mounted horizontally with the plates to the left and right. That worked perfectly.

I bought used like new but it seems to be brand new with cracks from manufacturer - poor finish.
