Broan-NuTone LA305WL Wired Door Chime, Walnut

When I installed a new Ubiquiti video doorbell, my old digital door chime no longer worked consistently. The transformer was supplying enough power but that early 2000s chime just didn't play nicely with the new doorbell.As long as I had to buy a new chime, I wanted something that fit our family's aesthetic and used mechanical chimes, so I settled on this NuTone chime. Installation was simple, and the chime is loud and clear. Critically, this chime works correctly with my video doorbell. I didn't encounter any of the problems mentioned in the other reviews with the chimes being out of alignment.

Not cheap, but is a real doorbell with mechanical chimes. Had one of these for 35 years and it stopped working. Tried a cheapie electronic doorbell from a big box store. No thanks. Many reviews here about some parts getting jostled in shipping are correct. And a bit difficult to get everything just right. The wiring with a lighted doorbell took a little work to figure out. The end result is outstanding, sounds great, and will probably last a long time.

Was bought to replace the old ugly and horrible sounding door chimes that were here when we bought the house. Just love the way it looks hanging on the wall and the sounds made when they chime. Would buy again if I ever need another one.

We bought this doorbell for our new house and had to return it for another one because the first doorbell chime didn't work. The second one works but has a tinny sound to it. We had Nutone in our previous house, which had a deep beautiful Westminster tone, but not this one. But what do you expect from China products these days? I would not recommend this product. For the price, we expected a richer, fuller sound than what it actually produces. Stay away from this one.

Chimes Sound lovely. Mine was 44 years old. Stopped working. Handyman installed new batteries. Works great. Good for another 44 years?

Our old 1970's 8 note chime, bit the dust, even after cleaning. Installed (first one was defective) without much trouble, but the chimes are not as mellow and are a bit tinny sounding. The strike plates are painted and just not the quality of the old ones. However, the exterior is much more attractive than our old model. Would have liked the stainless steel one but bought the brass one because it was a lot less expensive.

Easy to installl. Looks and sounds great

I previously had a 4 long brass tube NuTone door chime installed in 1995. The electronics failed on that unit. The electron chime from this unit is far inferior to that provided by the prior unit which provided the sound using plungers and the four very long brass tubes. I found no comparable replacement for the prior unit. I attempted to install a Craftmade model with similar long tubes (but not brass) and found the existing wiring was not adequate to allow it to be installed. I'm disappointed with the quality of sound of the new NuTone LA305WL unit but found not better alternative.
