Great axe for mountaineering and winter adventures. This is not intended for ice climbing. A more curved axe with hand protection is needed for that. The grip is comfortable and the adjustable flicklock is easy to move. Sometimes the lock comes undone easily so I recommend using electrical tape over it. The adze is sharp enough to chop ice and the pick can be swapped out if desired. I use/like the mountain tech pick to match my Venom hammer axe. The set of both are my go to axes when on routes not requiring ropes. The picks will rust if not dried properly.

This ice axe came out the box exactly how I expected it to. Totally fulfills my expectation when buying black diamond products, and I love that I have now integrated to a modular model. Seller had this to me in 2 days as promised even with covid 19 happening which helps because I have my first trip of the season next couple weeks.

Live this axe. Ridges on axe really help self arrest easily and quickly. The sharpness on tip allows you to pin in the snow with almost no struggle at all. Love the adjustable factor.

別売りのアイスクライミング用ピックに交換できるのですが、以前のモデルのベノムは用途がベーシックだったので気になってましたが、本体のどこにもT(テクニカル)マークが無いBマークもありません。説明書にはピック次第みたいなことが書いてあります。
