Masterful, serious, 9 eyed fish catching beast. Worth every penny to me.
This is one fine offshore boat rod with 9 eyes and a lot of backbone. It feels excellent in your hands, and is a joy to fish with. Mine is paired with a Penn Battle III 8000, spooled with 80lb braid. I put it to the test this year, bottom fishing off the coast of South Carolina in an avg. depth of 100 ft. It performed flawlessly. Now I know why they named it Carnage. Catch em up!

Best pole for a boat I ever bought!
First day out on the boat it got put to the test I got into a 45 inch sturgeon and he was not happy to be hooked after 20 mins of him running under the boat and anchor and prop it bent into a U several times great pole i love it PENN is a awesome brand i also recommend the PENN slammer reel 7500 I purchased at the same time and got 65 lb power pro it fit 360 yards on it the pole also is made for braided line and I love that the reel seat is metal feels super sturdy and the grip is like tread on a tire it looks pretty cool not sure it does anything but its cool.

Awesome Rod!!
I have two of these rods, medium/heavy 7 ft 50/100lb paired with a Penn Slammer III 7500's spooled with 65lb PowerPro braid. With 50lbs of drag, using the Dura-Drag system, the same silky smooth indestructible drag system as Penn International's, you will NOT find a better spinning reel combo for the money. This is an awesome general all purpose rig!Whether you are bottom fishing, high speed or slow pitch jigging, trolling, or casting, from Snapper, Cobia, Amber Jack, Kingfish, Mahi, to Grouper, Blackfin or Yellowfin, this rig won't disappoint!Infinitely better drag system and more line holding capacity then any other in this class such as the Daiwa BG.If you are looking for a general purpose, all around offshore spinning rod / reel combo, look no further!

Poorly Packaged
Shipped in a flimsy box and arrived damaged. Product itself is great, but ordering from Amazon isn't a great idea considering how it's sent.

Strong and light.
The rubber heat shrink grip with enhanced finger grooves puts this rod over the top for me. It’s light and strong. I appreciate the the 9 high quality eyes on the 7 ft. Rod. I have it paired up with a Penn Spinfisher 5500 that I have spooled up with 40# braid, I expect this rod can handle anything that comes its way down here on the gulf Coast of Florida. I will update my review as I put the Penn Carnage 3 to the test.

Great rod, lightweight and strong
I use this rod for snapper fishing and it's great the med-light paired with a Penn 4000 Clash. I also use it for Pike fishing from my kayak, the longer butt can get in the way at times but it helps me to be able to launch lures betting while sitting. I also have the Med-Heavy boat casting rod paired with a Penn Fathom 25L spooled with Finn"s 50# braid and I landed a 12 foot Nurse shark on it last summer. These rods are no joke. I had something even larger on and fought it for 45 min before it cut the line. The Rod handled it perfectly.
