We love cooking in cast iron and this is perfect for our little counter top convection oven. Yes it's small but roasting garlic and roasting small quantities, this is nice to have. Don't expect it to be like the old cast Iron pans because its not. I thew it in the garbage...

The price was in my range, so I bought two of these 6-1/2" cast iron frying pans. I watched a movie recently about a 30+ year long court battle over how dangerous teflon is to humans, and when I found out that the story was based on fact, I threw out my non-stick cookware and bought these. I am on the Keto diet and cook only for myself, so the small size pans are perfect for me. This way I can cook two eggs sunny side up in one pan, and a quarter pound hamburger patty in the other at the same time. The inside bottom of the both pans was very bumpy, so it required some vigorous sanding to smooth it out. I had to build an extension shaft to mount a 4" 60 grit sanding flap disk to my angle grinder in order to reach the bottom of the small diameter pan. After sanding the pans, I then spent two days seasoning the pans with coconut oil. I will bet you didn't know that coconut oil is a good disinfectant, doesn't spoil, kills germs, and doesn't create carcinogenic pathogens when used at a high heat. Good stuff!
