Star Wars Black Series Villain Pilot Action Figure

I ordered this figure mainly, to fill up my Black Series collection. I never expected much more than a generic figure. When it arrived, I was very impressed. The first thing that I noticed is that this figure is SUPER glossy, I like that a lot. He comes with a tiny pistol that is also black which is equally as glossy. I expected the mold for this pistol to be exactly the same as the First Order Stormtrooper. Yes and no, it is slightly different. Unlike the Stormtrooper, this one does not have the holster clip. My favorite thing about this figure by far is the lenses. They are in the shape of a half-circle and sort of have a dark-blue/purple color to them. This figure also offers nice details, all the buttons on his control panel is done well. I believe that this is suitable for children to handle. Although, it is pretty much guaranteed that the tiny pistoll will be lost if given to a kid. Other than that, it is a rather durable figure. Overall, I believe that this figure is worth the money. Personally, I am very happy with it. This is a great chance to get this figure if you do not want to buy that massive $140.00 Black Series Tie fighter, just to get the figure. Although, personally, I do prefer that variant over this figure, because of the red markings. Please comment, your thoughts about the figure are welcome. I hope I have helped you out. Another great figure from the Force Awakens line (phase III) of Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series. Although there have been some misses, so many of the newer figures have been fantastic and this is another example of one of the good ones. This and the Resistance Trooper are part of wave #3, which started appearing in some areas around Christmas, but is just now (mid-Jan 2016) starting to pop up on store shelves in many areas. It typically retails, like the other 6" black series figures, for $19.99-21.99. I bought it when Amazon had it in stock for $21.99 with free Prime shipping.The figure is almost entirely black molded plastic, other than small areas of highlights on the chest and blaster, and First Order insignia on the shoulder armor. It seems to be modeled pretty closely on the reference photos shown in the Star Wars the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary and looks pretty much like a guy in a really cool all black flight suit. He's a bit taller and better proportioned than the Imperial Tie Fighter Pilot and there's a greater contrast between his matte black flight suit and the very glossy armor, boots, and helmet. A nice touch is the smoky blue-grey color on the lenses of the helmet. The only accessory is a short blaster, but there is no holster, which is movie accurate. There are 27 points of articulation, making it easy to put him into a variety of poses.Overall, this is not a very essential character in the movie, but a great representation of him in action figure form. Definitely worth getting at the retail price and I think it will soon be much easier to do so.

Solid, I really enjoy the colouring and the finish of the figure as well as those jumpsuit suspenders they added to hang from the hips along with the new-era form of plastoid armoring that covers some parts of the jumpsuit with the First Order emblem being emblazoned on the shoulder pads as opposed to the former generation of TIE pilots who had little to no protection howsoever and didn't sport as good looks.

Although The First Order isn't the grandest army in the Star Wars universe, the toy gets everything right from the bottom boots to the top sensor helmet. Hasbro is known for its excellent articulated Star Wars The Black Series figures, and this one is no exception. The poseability for the figure is fine, but the arm guards on the shoulders restrict upwards arm movement. However, this does nothing to overshadow the overall good build and paint application on the figure. The accessory choice of a standard blaster pistol is fine. In the end, the figure is a must have if you're trying to complete your collection, and if you're a fan of The First Order.

What more can be said of these black series figures that hasn't been said? They're black series....their great. Not as good as a s.h. figure arts fig or bandai, but good nonetheless. And you can't really say too much about a Tie fighter pilot...except that He's cool in his all black imperial armor and uniform. And he comes with a small pistol. At least its something...I wish I had his Tie fighter to place him in. Maybe next time.I'm a happy camper.;)

Overall a good figure. Here are my reasons for knocking a star off: the figure is a wee bit skinny for a Death Trooper, giving it a bit of an anorexic look. The final touches like detailing and the paint seem only slightly sub-par for the 6" Black Series. If it was on a 3.75" run of the mill figure, I'd be saying "great detail work!", but not when compared to other Black Series.

I buy all the black series. I use them for toy photography. Bought 4 of these. Might buy a couple more. I usually buy multiples of the stomtroopers, Tuken Raiders, Jawas, and others for army building. Great to have multiples in pictures.
