URO Parts 1C0 945 511A Brake Light Switch

Cruise control wasn’t working so replaced both the break light switch and this clutch switch. Break light switch (Febi Bliston) works perfectly. Sadly, the clutch switch doesn’t. VAG COMM shows it’s not working, pulled it and hooked it up to a Ohm meter and it shows the switch in open when the plunger is extended and when depressed (No Febi clutch switch available so try, try again).

Worked on a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S. I was having three problems: Cruise control would not engage, ability to start engine without depressing the brake pedal, and ability to move from park to drive without depressing the brake pedal. This fixed all three. Make sure you have a switch there already before purchasing. I read on a few forums that the later 2004 model year cayenne may not have the switch.I have no idea on longevity as I installed this a week ago.

This was the best model break switch which is a 5 minute install, no worries of breaking the barrel like in the switch the was in the car. This switch is known to go bad and VW has gone through 5 generations I believe of this switch and this A version was the first one and the best one am not sure why they went from this to all the others then came back to this one.

This is the switch you need if you own a 2001 New Beetle (in my case, a TDI). I got pulled over by the police for not having working brake lights, and this and a few minutes on YouTube solved the problem. Not to mention I was having issues with brake drag. All solved, and I saved money.
