BERTUCCIA-4T Super Yankee Illuminated Watch

I have been casually looking for several years for a watch that was: 1. Tritium illuminated 2. Simple in design, and 3. not so large that it looks like a wall clock on my wrist (exacerbated by the fact that I have rather slender wrists). I bought this one about a month ago and practically haven't taken it off since. It seems to be well constructed, is relatively lightweight, face and date are both easy to read, and I don't have to worry about a pin falling out and losing the whole thing. The phosphorescent bits glow very brightly after having been exposed to light but do not seem to glow for all that long. This is not really an issue for me since the radioluminescent bits (tritium tubes) glow perpetually for a decade or two, though they do so with less intensity. All in all, this seems to be the exactly what I had hoped to find.Despite how much I love the watch, this was very nearly a 4 star review because of the band. It is very attractive and seems well put together, but it was very stiff and took a while to wear in (as is the case with most new things). Also, and this is where they almost lost the star, the band is made of nylon, so they melted the cut ends to prevent fraying. In doing so, it created a sharp and rough piece of hard plastic on the inside of the watch band which was extremely uncomfortable. I was able to "fine tune" it using a file over the course of a few days and eventually got all the burrs smoothed out. Also, the crystal does not seem to be recessed like on the A-2T which might be something to consider if you are rough on watches.

Immediately returned after seeing it up close, the illumination in the dark is fine, my gripe is with all the unnecessary clutter on the dial, what’s with all the specs printed on the dial, looks like a billboard advertisement, “TITANIUM”, “SAPPHIRE”, “LITHIUM”, plus it has some sort of stupid icon, not sure if the icon is supposed to be representing a luminous tube or battery…Who cares!!! I don’t want or need all that unnecessary crap on my watch!Stupid design!

Got this since my old eyes are having a hard time reading my old watch in the dark. The combination of tritium tubes and Swiss super lux paint really make this easy to read, even before your eyes have had a chance to adjust to the dark. As other reviewers have stated, this watch has everything. My only complaint is that 26mm bands limit your choices. I'm currently using a 24mm and it's fine, but has a slight gap. Highly recommend this watch.

This is an awesome watch! It is big compared to most watches for women for sure, but after wearing a larger Apple watch and longing for a watch that tells me only what I need and doesn't disturb me with notices, I figured this larger Bertucci would be fine. And it is more than fine! It's perfect. Big enough to easily read the time and date and the eliminated dial is beautiful. So well designed. And for a woman who likes activity, perfect to not have to worry about damaging your watch. Yes, this this is "a man's watch", but it can also be a woman's, mine. 🥰

I use this watch primarily at work. I drive long haul trucking at night. And the areas between cities in North America can be very dark so I keep all interior cab lights low to preserve my night vision. This watch glows enough to tell the time quickly at a glance without disturbing my night vision something like checking a phone would. Also no need to press a button so hands stay on the wheel. I wear my watch face on the inside of my wrist so it’s always visible while driving.It has also helped my sleep because if I wake up I just check it’s gently glowing face for the time instead of my phone that leads to checking email and so on and so forth.Strap took a little getting use to. I wet the strap a little and worked it back and forth a bit and it’s extremely comfortable 3 days of wear later.I’m really impressed how smooth it feels. I’ve had watches in the past that would snag on shirts and jackets when taking them on and off and this does not have that issue. It’s also feels sturdy if that makes sense. It does not rattle or jingle at all and most days I forget I have it on until I need to know the time. Cargo handling gloves slip on and off with no issue.

Very bright and easy to read at night. It is a bit larger than I thought it would be, but a very good looking watch.
