since I don't hear well, this is very convenient for important things. Dr does not recommend hearing aides, so this is wonderful.

The headphones stopped working within 1 day of use. Also the item has no filter so I could hear everything, such as the electric fan on my desk.

Product is VERY small and difficult for seniors to use. I assume that is your targeted customer base, so why not put more thought into the design of the product for this population?I bought this for an elderly parent to use at dr appts and for 1-1 conversations (would not recommend for areas like restaurants or events as it will amplify all the background noise as well)This product is really of little use for my family member since they can only use it when someone is around to help them. The on/off function is very small and difficult to use. The volume control is a dial and easy to accidentally turn to volume too loud - this would be better as a (+) ( -) feature so one can increase or decrease volume in increments rather than a dial.The batteries came included but it is difficult to open/ close the back to install the batteries.. again, not very senior friendly.The one feature that was appreciated is that the product came with both earplug and ear phones with a padding. My family member already has a hearing aid in the ear, so the earplug is not useful. He wears the earphones around his neck, the padding helps it to not be too uncomfortable.I am looking into other plug in options to use that may be better but for now, wearing it around the neck helps.

Here's my review after using with my elderly mom over the past 3 months: this amplifier works well. The headphones that come with it are underwhelming, I highly recommend spending an extra few bucks on a set of basic over-the-ear headphones that give better coverage around the ears instead (amazon has them for about $10). Well worth it. Also a box of generic AAA batteries. They'll last a long time.When I first took the amplifier out of the box I thought that the build quality seemed cheap for the price I paid to be honest, but after 3 months of regular use with different headphones I actually have no complaints. It's small, lightweight, and gets the job done.

Update: I praised this in the beginning but soon realized it wasn't consistent after some use. You might get different results.

I am a senior and got difficulty to listen to talk of relatively near distance. With this device I can listen to and understand talk. It is good. But problem is that, If I put it in my pocket, voice of myself is too big. So, it is better to put on a desk. But it is not stable, easy to fall over. Then I made stand with cardboard: see picture. It works. but if non-slip one is better.Volume mark: each time I need to search good volume. So, there should be numbers 1,2,3... on the volume dial. I marked a dot at the good volume point by marker. then it works well.After these additional works, it works very well.
