Pickup did not work...
I got this guitar as a Birthday gift to myself, to be played publicly on Thursday night, plugged it in and no sound. Used the same cable on a friend's guitar and it worked just fine so I had to borrow his to play my set.Now I'm going to have to put this one in the shop to have it repaired before I can play it on stage.Update: As I had hoped, one of the wires going from the battery and tuner, to the pickup, was not connected. My guitar tech loosened the strings, stuck his hand in, and immediately found the problem, and now it works just fine. Plays beautifully, like a Talkamine should~

Exceeded my Expectations
Based on years of playing guitar—mine and many others—I always believed Takamine especially excelled at medium to low price guitars, giving you a ton of value compared to other companies with more renown. I expected this guitar to be no different…When I got it, I was immediately blown away. The action is very aggressive and makes me seem more capable than I am. The sound is deeper than most A/E blends. There were no dead spots, no warping, etc. The finish is beautiful. The entire guitar feels as smooth as butter. Overall, this is far beyond what I expected. Knowing what I know now, I would be happy with this quality had I paid 3x the price.Side note, I took a break from playing for a few years after having kids. This guitar got me back into it and playing daily. I own a much nicer Martin and a couple others. It does not matter what standard you normally operate at, you’ll be impressed with this guitar at its price. For a beginner, this will spoil you and I say it’s the perfect one to pick. For a more seasoned player, it’ll fit a niche somewhere in your collection if you’re missing it. Either way, you will not be disappointed with your purchase.

Great Guitar for the Price!
I was hesitant when I ordered this guitar online but truly pleased when it arrived and I began playing. I've got lots of different guitars--both acoustic and electric. Some very expensive and rare and some not. Every guitar is different. And this Takamine is quite excellent. I got it because it's so neat looking but have to admit that it plays rather well. I was happy that it was so good--amazingly, when I got it out of the box, it was basically about 1/2 a step out of pitch from an E. I'm all for this guitar and glad I got it. I think it could work not only for beginners but for pros who want a decent sound guitar for a really reasonable price.

Recommended! Bright Beauty!
First, I've wanted a Takamine for many years, so my review may be a little biased, but man am I so happy to finally have one! This model is gorgeous and sounds amazing; I haven't even changed the strings it came with yet!It has a beautiful bright tone and it's setup really well as far as string height etc.I'm convinced that you just can't beat this value... Best $300 guitar I've owned. Highly recommend!
